About the job
We're looking for people who are independent, self-motivated, and driven by the impact they can have on our users. For this role, we're seeking an iOS Engineer to join our team and help build the safest communications platform on the planet.
Our Product
We're building a communication and collaboration platform that solves for two seemingly opposing goals: team productivity and uncompromising privacy. Most platforms make you choose one or the other; our goal is to allow our users to have both.
Our foundation goes beyond standard end-to-end encryption because true group collaboration demands end-to-ends encryption. From there, we layer on world-class productivity tools that let corporate and distributed teams work faster, smarter, and with complete confidence that their communications stay private.
Our iOS app brings that experience to mobile through secure messaging, voice and video calls, meetings, and file sharing. You'll help make those experiences feel fast, reliable, and natural on iOS.
About Sentriqs
We're a global SaaS company offering communication and productivity applications tailored for, but not limited to, specialized, highly secure, regulated markets, including law enforcement, counter-terrorism, healthcare, and finance.
We're a people-first company. We take care to ensure everyone who joins our team is awesome to work with, loves what they do, and is passionate about building cool stuff. Because we're a small team, the best fit will be someone who enjoys taking a feature from an initial idea all the way to production, learning along the way and collaborating when the problem calls for it. If that sounds like your kind of work, let's chat!
Responsibilities
As an iOS Engineer, you will:
- Build and maintain features in our native iOS app using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit.
- Take features through implementation, testing, and release, working with the team to define scope and make thoughtful technical decisions.
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver a consistent experience across messaging, calls, meetings, and collaboration tools.
- Improve app performance and reliability, including how it handles changing network conditions, background activity, and local data.
- Contribute to shared UI components, automated tests, code reviews, and the ongoing evolution of our iOS architecture.
- Take initiative to identify problems and prioritize your work in accordance with our shared goals.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building native iOS applications with Swift, including shipping and maintaining apps. Professional experience and building your own products both count.
- Hands-on experience with SwiftUI and UIKit, and comfort working in an app that uses both.
- A practical understanding of Swift concurrency, including async/await, iOS app lifecycle, state management, and memory management.
- Experience integrating backend APIs
- Solid programming fundamentals and a disciplined approach to code structure, testing, and documentation, including automated tests with XCTest or Swift Testing.
- A good feel for UI/UX, with attention to responsiveness, accessibility, and the details that make an app feel native.
- Comfort working independently, communicating clearly, and collaborating with a remote team.
- Some workday overlap with America/New_York.
Preferred
- Experience building messaging, collaboration, or other applications with real-time updates.
- Experience with voice or video calling, particularly CallKit, PushKit, AVFoundation
- Familiarity with iOS app extensions
- Experience with SQLite, SQLCipher, or secure storage and handling of sensitive data on mobile.
- Interest in cryptography and privacy, or experience developing applications for security-sensitive or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with Swift Package Manager, TestFlight, App Store releases, and CI workflows for iOS.
