About the job
Chia Technologies is building the OS for action, connecting software, systems, and the real world.
I'm looking for a technical co-founder to partner with me in building Chia into a lasting technology company. You'll take a leading role in engineering, help turn our early-stage technology into production-ready products, establish the company's technical foundation, and shape how we build as we grow.
This is a founding role, not a typical engineering position. You'll have substantial ownership over architecture, technical strategy, engineering standards, and implementation. You'll work directly with me to make important technical decisions and help determine the direction of Chia's technology.
You should be able to:
• Own systems from architecture through implementation and deployment.
• Make sound technical decisions independently and take responsibility for the results.
• Work across backend systems, infrastructure, distributed systems, APIs, and frontend development when needed.
• Turn early-stage software into reliable, production-ready products.
• Establish engineering standards and lead technical development as the company grows.
• Think beyond individual features and build systems designed to scale.
• Work through ambiguity, take initiative, and operate effectively in an early-stage startup.
I'm looking for someone who wants to build a technology company for the long term, contribute to its broader direction, and share responsibility for its success, not simply take a job.
The role offers the opportunity to grow into CTO as Chia's engineering organization develops, depending on the company's needs and your contributions.
Equity is negotiable within the stated range and subject to an agreed vesting schedule and formal founder arrangements.
