About the job

Eiden Systems Consulting (ESC) is seeking a Software Systems Engineer Lead who holds an active Secret clearance with extensive experience in systems engineering, software development, low-code/no-code application development, business process automation, and enterprise data analytics. This role will provide senior technical leadership across complex software systems, including architecture, application development, integration, testing, modernization, and technical direction.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with BPMN, Appian, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Business Intelligence platforms, data modeling, dashboard development, Agile/low-code development, and modern security technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level technical expertise in software systems engineering, programming, architecture, and analysis.
  • Design and develop complex software applications and business process automation solutions using low-code/no-code platforms and BPMN.
  • Develop application and process automation based on BPMN models using platforms such as Appian, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Design system architectures encompassing software, hardware, communications, interfaces, and future cross-functional requirements.
  • Develop high-level system design diagrams and provide technical direction throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Ensure software and system architectures comply with applicable DoD, open systems, and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Analyze functional and technical requirements and recommend hardware, software, modernization, and upgrade solutions.
  • Lead software design, coding, testing, debugging, integration, and technical documentation activities.
  • Apply Agile and hybrid development methodologies to low-code and enterprise application development.
  • Develop and support Business Intelligence solutions, including analytics, data modeling, and dashboard design.
  • Evaluate new and existing software products, technologies, and platforms for technical suitability and performance.
  • Apply modern security technologies and concepts, including cryptographic and emerging security solutions.
  • Collaborate with project management to establish technical direction, priorities, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance oversight to other engineering and development personnel.
  • Support system maintenance, optimization, modernization, and integration across complex enterprise environments.
  • Identify and resolve complex software, systems, integration, and performance issues.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering and software development.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code development and BPMN tools.
  • Experience developing application and business process automation based on BPMN models.
  • Experience with Appian, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with Agile and hybrid low-code application development.
  • Experience with MicroStrategy or comparable Business Intelligence platforms.
  • Experience with data analytics, data modeling, and dashboard design.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex software and systems architectures.
  • Experience with software development, integration, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of open systems and DoD architecture and technical standards.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing software products, upgrades, and modernization solutions.
  • Knowledge or experience with modern security solutions, cryptographic technologies, blockchain, or related security research.
  • Strong ability to provide technical direction and lead the work of other engineering and development personnel.
  • Active Secret Clearance with IT-II eligibility.
  • IAT Level I certification or relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD or Federal Government programs.
  • Appian development or architecture experience.
  • Experience with MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau, or other enterprise BI platforms.
  • Experience integrating low-code applications with enterprise databases and external systems.
  • Experience with APIs, enterprise application integration, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, secure software development, and modern application security practices.
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as blockchain, distributed ledger technology, or applied cryptography.
