About the job
About Optimize Everything
Optimize Everything is building Split Ride, a carpool app. Drivers post the trips they already make, from where they start to where they're going, and riders heading the same way ride along and share the cost. Behind the app is a backend that auctions each ride request and plans routes that combine carpool, transit, and partner rides. Other apps can use the same backend through our public API (docs.opteverything.com). We're a small, remote team based in Winnipeg, preparing for launch.
The role
You make sure the product gets built, works, and matches the spec, and you make product decisions when they have to be made.
Responsibilities
- Test finished tasks against their acceptance tests in ClickUp, on Android, iOS, web, and the API
- Report bugs with clear steps to reproduce
- Write and refine tasks: requirements, edge cases, error handling, and acceptance tests
- Make product decisions that get the first release out quickly and keep users coming back
- Run full manual test passes before each release
Compensation
- Paid in story points, mostly from the time you log: one point an hour for someone with four years of professional development experience, adjusted for your experience
- Tasks you complete earn their estimate in hours of work by an experienced developer, multiplied by 0.1 for the speed-up from AI
- Commitment: at least 100 story points a month
- In any month you reach 100 points, 10% of that month's points are paid in cash at $60 CAD per point ($600 CAD at 100 points)
- Points not paid in cash are equity: one share per point when the company incorporates (minimum 100 points to convert)
