UAV Autonomy/R&D Engineer – Robotics & Embedded

Build the autonomy stack for India's drones.

Kapxha Dynamics is a DPIIT-recognised defence-tech startup based in Jaipur. We build UAV autonomy stacks and counter-drone systems end to end: flight control firmware, onboard autonomy, perception, ground control software and field deployment.

We are early and small. You would own real subsystems, not tickets. Your code goes onto actual aircraft and flies in weeks, not quarters, and you will be standing in the field when it does.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Autonomy software for UAV platforms: navigation, guidance, control and mission logic.
Work inside ArduPilot / PX4: custom flight modes, parameter tuning, failsafe and geofence logic, firmware-level changes.
Flight controller to companion computer integration over MAVLink / MAVROS, SBUS, CAN, UART, I2C and SPI.
Perception pipelines: object detection and tracking, camera calibration, gimbal control, and model deployment on NVIDIA Jetson with TensorRT.
State estimation and GPS-denied navigation: EKF tuning, IMU / GPS / RTK fusion, visual-inertial odometry.
Path planning and obstacle avoidance with ROS2, LiDAR and depth cameras.
Simulation first (Gazebo, SITL and HITL), then real flight tests, log analysis and iteration.
Counter-drone work: detection, tracking and classification of airborne targets.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

2-5 years hands-on in robotics, UAVs or autonomous systems.
Strong C++ and Python.
ROS / ROS2 and embedded Linux.
ArduPilot, PX4, MAVLink or similar flight stacks.
OpenCV, and experience deploying deep learning models on edge devices.
Comfortable with UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, SBUS and debugging on real hardware.
Happy to be on-site in Jaipur and out in the field during trials.

Yocto / BSP, Linux device drivers, STM32 / FreeRTOS.
RTK GPS, RF telemetry links, mesh networking.
Drone swarming, SLAM, sensor fusion.
DGCA drone pilot certification.
