About the job
Company Description Vintage Modern, Inc. is a premier builder of modernized classic vehicles, blending vintage design with contemporary reliability, performance, and luxury. The company’s first modern classic pays homage to an iconic vehicle while incorporating advanced engineering and high-end features. Each model is meticulously hand-built in Georgia with a strong emphasis on fit, finish, and quality. Vintage Modern is also building a retail partner network to support sales and service across the United States, creating opportunities for growth and collaboration. Team members join a craft-focused environment that values precision, innovation, and customer experience.
Role Description We are seeking a hands-on Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. This role owns the numbers that guide decisions by converting accounting data into useful insights for the organization. This roll will be responsible for maintaining the rolling forecast, the 13-week cash flow, production line economics, working capital, and capital planning. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, lean environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats — from day-to-day close activities to process improvement and systems work.
Key Responsibilities
Forecasting and Planning
· Build and maintain the annual budget and rolling forecast, including revenue, production volume, material costs, labor, overhead, and operating expense assumptions.
· Own the 13-week cash flow model in Excel, with dynamic, centrally controlled assumptions (timing of customer receipts, vendor payments, payroll, inventory purchases, capital spending) so scenarios can be changed quickly.
· Update the cash forecast weekly, reconcile it to actual cash results, and explain variances to the Controller.
· Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses, such as changes in production volume, supplier pricing, lead times, and customer payment timing.
Production and Cost Analytics
· Analyze unit economics and contribution margin for each operating production line, including material, labor, and overhead cost per vehicle, throughput, yield, scrap, and utilization.
· Maintain standard costs with the Controller and analyze purchase price, usage, labor, and overhead variances against actuals.
· Review bill of materials (BOM) cost changes and quantify the margin impact of supplier and design changes.
· Support inventory and working capital analysis: inventory turns, slow-moving and obsolete stock, days payable and receivable, and cash conversion.
Third Line and R&D
· Track budget versus actual for the third production line’s R&D program, including cost to complete, milestone spending, and forecast cash needs.
· Prepare cost summaries that the Controller and Senior Accountant use to support expense and capitalization decisions.
· Build the business case and return analysis for capital investment in capacity, tooling, and equipment, including the economics of bringing the third line into production.
· Track capital projects and trend analysis.
Reporting and Management Support
· Produce monthly management reporting: KPI dashboards, budget-versus-actual, variance commentary, and forecast updates.
· Support the month-end close by validating accruals, reviewing flux explanations, and preparing COGS and inventory analysis.
· Respond to ad hoc requests from executives, including pricing analysis, lender and investor reporting support, and cost-reduction studies.
· Improve reporting automation and data models; document assumptions, model logic, and version control.
· Serve as backup for the Senior Accountant on reconciliations and close tasks as delegated.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, cost accounting, or a related analytical role; manufacturing or automotive experience strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills (dynamic assumptions, scenario tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, Power Query, pivot tables); experience building 13-week cash flow models.
• Working knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Experience with an ERP system and a BI or reporting tool (for example, Power BI or Tableau) preferred.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-finance audiences with a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
