RF Power Application Intern
Role Overview:
The RF Power Application Intern will design, assemble, and test RF Power application circuits in support of our RF power amplifier product line. The intern will learn to utilize RF models and measured data to drive circuit level designs. This will include learning to utilize RF test equipment and test software to perform RF measurements, such as s-parameters and circuit level characterization. This role will also utilize AWR to model and analyze RF device performance. Additional activity will include designing PCB layouts, hands-on PCB assembly and soldering, data analysis, and updating datasheets to reflect new application board designs.
During the internship, the applicant will learn:
- RF matching design techniques
- RF circuit board simulation and manufacturing
- AutoCAD mechanical design
- Hands-on RF Power circuit assembly and test
- Documentation suitable for sharing with customers.
Requirements:
- College student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or the equivalent.
- Must have an interest in one or more of the following: magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), radar, cellular telephone, satellites, avionics or in an industry relevant to radio frequency power
- Mechanical aptitude, should have experience working with small tools. Soldering experience is a plus along with experience building small electronic circuits.
During the 12 weeks each Intern will:
- Be given an individual and well-defined project with set outcome goals
- Gain hands on experience
- Receive excellent training and ongoing supervision
- Be invited to attend an intern webinar series
- Attend networking/social events
- Attend and present at Poster Session about each Interns project successes and pitfalls
- Receive formal, written feedback
