About the job
We are looking for a CEO to lead Hydropore Technologies through its next stage of development and commercialization.
Hydropore is a University of Pennsylvania spinout developing a novel hydrogen-producing battery that stores renewable energy and produces hydrogen on demand. The technology is designed to eliminate the need for conventional high-pressure hydrogen compression and storage, with potential applications across microgrids, distributed energy systems, and AI data centers.
The company has completed its initial early-stage development with approximately $700K in non-dilutive funding and is now working toward scaling its technology from prototype to a commercial-scale MVP.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial leader who can work closely with Hydropore's technical team and take ownership of the company's commercial development. An ideal candidate will bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Deep-tech, hardware, energy, hydrogen, or climate-tech commercialization
• Startup leadership or company formation
• Fundraising and investor engagement
• Customer discovery, business development, and strategic partnerships
• Commercializing university-originated technologies
• Federal non-dilutive funding, particularly SBIR/STTR or related programs
Important compensation note: This is currently an equity-compensated role. Cash compensation will begin following successful fundraising led by the CEO. We are therefore looking for someone who wants to join Hydropore as an entrepreneurial partner and has a strong ownership mindset.
Our goal is to bring the new CEO on board before the end of 2026, allowing the team to begin preparing for Hydropore's Phase II STTR application in early 2027.
If this opportunity may be a fit for you, or if someone in your network comes to mind, please reach out to me directly. Referrals and introductions would be greatly appreciated.
