Standard Job Description

Please join us as a Certified Product Engineer, where you will lead the development and certification of the Sensor Electronics unit on the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program.

Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near our Lockheed Martin Space facility and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

*Key Activities You Will Accomplish In This Role:*

  • Work on a cross-functional team in the development and certification of a supplier avionics product.
  • Participate in engineering reviews, Engineering Material Review Board (EMRB) hardware discrepancy decisions, and Failure Review Board (FRB) as required.
  • Resolve test anomalies through troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Support generation of End Item Data Package for Product Certification, and integration of assemblies into next higher assembly.
  • Manage risk and identify mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, schedule, and mission success objectives.

*To Be Effective In This Role, You Will Need:*

  • Experience in a Responsible Engineer / Product Lead role for analog and digital electronics.
  • Experience in design and testing of sensor electronics
  • Experience design and testing high speed interfaces
  • Experience design and testing low noise systems
  • Experience working with Subcontractors and sub-tier suppliers.
  • Familiarity with other engineering processes, disciplines and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Familiarity with processes on failure investigation (root cause analysis, Failure Review Boards, etc.).
  • Experience supporting the technical evaluation of design and requirements verification.
  • Experience in different phases of aerospace electronic component development cycle.
  • Experience interacting with peers, management and government customers.
  • Proficiency in presentations and in written communications.
  • 6+ years of professional experience.

*Standard Job Description*Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Experience in development of Analog or Digital Electronic circuitry.
  • Experience as a Responsible Engineer or technical lead of analog and/or digital electronics.

Desired Skills

Experience as an Electronics Product Engineer in efforts to certify avionics hardware, and its interfaces to other systems, as ready for flight.

  • Experience in integration of electronics between the flight systems, MGSE, EGSE, processing equipment, test fixturing, and other external interfaces.
  • Experience developing integration and test plans while supporting both system and subsystem integration test execution, including environmental and ground testing.
  • Proficient presentation skills and associated presentation tools.
  • Experience in the design and manufacturing of CPU based systems
  • Knowledge of subsystem/system requirements and process.
  • Successfully tested multiple CCA types.
  • Material Review Board (MRB) Certified in at least one Line of Business (LOB).
  • Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics.
  • Experience and missile/aerospace-related education/background.
  • System performance monitoring and evaluation experience.
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Test and Measurement Equipment .
  • Mentor Graphics, ORCAD, Zuken or comparable drawing package.
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $161300.00 - $299500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
