Job Description
Network & Security Infrastructure Engineer
You will keep the network running — and be the engineer people are glad to have on the other end of a ticket. You've spent years living in the CLI. You can read a BGP table like a story, you know why a DMVPN tunnel really went down, and you've fixed more than one firewall rule that someone swore was "fine." You're also the kind of engineer who can drop that to help someone who just can't get to email — and make it look easy. Our client is hiring an experienced Network & Security Engineer to keep our routing, VPN, and firewall infrastructure healthy and to keep day-to-day IT running smoothly for the whole company. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned engineer who's at their best troubleshooting live issues, working a ticket queue, and getting things fixed — not sitting in design reviews.
Role:
-Maintain and troubleshoot routing on Cisco ASR platforms and Catalyst switching
-Troubleshoot and support BGP across internal and edge environments — peering issues, route problems, and path selection
-Keep DMVPN overlays and other site-to-site connectivity healthy across our locations, and fix them when they break
- Administer and maintain Palo Alto firewalls: security policy changes, NAT, HA pairs, PAN-OS upgrades, and GlobalProtect remote access
-Troubleshoot network issues from L1 to L3 — packet captures, routing anomalies, latency, and the hard-to-reproduce problems
-Work the IT ticket queue — resolve tickets for end users at every level, from new hires to executives, with the same professionalism whether it's a laptop, an account, or a network issue
-Perform day-to-day maintenance on internal IT infrastructure and keep the environment secure and well-documented
Experience:
-Senior-level hands-on experience operating and supporting enterprise networks in production
-Deep, practical Cisco routing expertise — ASR platforms and IOS-XE, with strong BGP and DMVPN troubleshooting skills
-Real-world Palo Alto firewall administration experience (PAN-OS, GlobalProtect, HA)
-Solid command of core networking: OSPF, VLANs/switching, NAT, IPsec, DNS, and TLS
- Experience supporting end users of all levels — you can translate a hard technical problem into a calm, clear fix
-Certifications like CCNP and PCNSE are a strong plus (in particular for more junior/mid candidates)
-A methodical, break/fix troubleshooting mindset and clear documentation habits
-Network engineering background (LAN/WAN, VLAN, etc.)
Other:
• Audio/Visual Equipment troubleshooting experience, Crestron experience a plus
• Cisco ASRs, cisco wireless controllers – pretty much full line, not just routers and switches
• Physical commissioning and decommissioning of Networks and Servers at times
• General IT support for end users and general office tasks
Company Benefits:
• Competitive salary & equity — Compensation matched to your experience and expertise, plus equity so you share directly in the long-term success you help build.
• Comprehensive health coverage — Medical, dental, and vision plans to keep you and your family at your best. Select plans are 100% employer-covered.
• Unlimited time off — Great work needs balance. Take the time you need to rest, recharge, and focus on what matters.
• Professional growth — A dedicated budget for conferences, certifications, continuing education, and training. Your development matters here.
• 401(k) plan — Invest in your future with our 401(k) program and FSA & HSA options — Tax-advantaged ways to manage healthcare and dependent care expenses
