About the job

Shelter Air | Hudson Valley, NY

Shelter Air is a growing, woman-owned HVAC and home performance company specializing in heat pumps, electrification, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality.

We believe that how buildings perform has a direct impact on people's health, comfort, energy costs, and the environment. We use building science to understand how homes work and find practical ways to make them better.

We're looking for an outgoing, exceptionally organized person who is interested in sustainability, enjoys working with people, and likes getting things done.

This is primarily an office-based position supporting sales, customer relationships, and daily operations.

What You'll Do

Follow up with prospective customers, estimates, and open proposals to help close sales.

Prepare draft proposals and organize project information.

Schedule consultations, installations, and occasional service calls for boilers and other HVAC equipment.

Prepare and file permit applications and coordinate inspections.

Coordinate energy assessments, airflow testing, and diagnostic appointments.

Maintain CRM records and track sales opportunities and follow-ups.

Make follow-up calls after installations to check on customer satisfaction and address any concerns.

Help customers understand rebates, incentives, and project timelines.

Assist with newsletters, customer communications, and community outreach.

Help create a great customer experience, from the first phone call to the thank-you note.

Occasionally join the owner on site visits and at community events.

Who You Are

Friendly, confident, and comfortable talking with homeowners.

Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and good at following through.

Someone who takes initiative, solves problems, and enjoys getting things done.

Interested in sustainability, climate solutions, technology, and how buildings affect human health.

A good writer who is comfortable learning new software.

Happy working independently and managing the details that keep a business running.

HVAC experience isn't necessary. We're happy to teach someone who's interested in building science and electrification. What's more important is that you're reliable, organized, good with people, and genuinely interested in the work we do.

What's In It for You?

Be part of a growing, woman-owned company with opportunities to grow alongside us.

Learn new skills in building science, electrification, energy efficiency, and emerging technologies.

Be part of a movement to improve how we live and make our homes more comfortable, efficient, and better for people and the planet.

Help shake up the traditional HVAC and home performance industry. We're not afraid to do things differently.

Work with dynamic, hands-on leadership. We challenge ourselves and each other to learn, improve, and do better.

Have fun! We work hard, challenge each other, share a lot of laughs, and genuinely enjoy working together.

Must love dogs. Seriously.
