POSITION OVERVIEW
The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's information technology systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technical support services. Responsibilities include ensuring the day-to-day operational activities of help-desk support, network administration and operation of our software systems, including our ERP. This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of all technology resources while supporting business objectives through strategic planning, project management, and continuous improvement of IT operations.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT strategies, policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage day-to-day IT operations, including networks, servers, hardware, software, telecommunications systems, and related infrastructure.
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of all technology systems.
- Oversee system upgrades, installations, and technology implementations.
- Lead IT support operations, ensuring timely resolution of service requests and providing advanced onsite and remote troubleshooting for hardware, software, networking, telecommunications, email, printers, internet connectivity, and mobile devices.
- Develop service standards and performance metrics.
- Manage IT asset inventory, including hardware, software licenses, peripherals, procurement, and licensing compliance.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage IT projects from initiation through completion.
- Collaborate with departments to identify technology needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Manage vendor relationships, warranties, leases, maintenance agreements, and technology contracts.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve business operations.
- Administer and configure Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams, SharePoint, and related administration platforms.
- Monitor Microsoft service health, usage reports, and compliance dashboards.
- Support OneDrive for Business deployment, synchronization issues, and data governance.
- Manage user identities, conditional access policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA), role-based access control (RBAC), enterprise applications, and third-party integrations.
- Administer Microsoft Purview, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), information protection, sensitivity labels, audit logs, insider risk management, eDiscovery, and compliance assessments.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements through collaboration with legal, compliance, and security teams.
- Maintain the security and availability of technology systems by developing cybersecurity policies, managing firewalls and security tools, enforcing access controls, monitoring threats and vulnerabilities, and maintaining secure passwords.
- Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes while monitoring infrastructure health and backup completion.
- Administer physical and virtual server environments and supporting technologies, with a focus on Windows servers.
- Configure, manage, and maintain IT and telephony equipment.
- Maintain internet connectivity, firewall infrastructure, and security monitoring tools.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and reporting.
- Complete employee onboarding, offboarding, leave, and role-change technology processes.
- Develop technical documentation and provide training for end users and IT personnel.
- Prepare and manage the IT department budget, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in systems and network administration; experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, server administration, cloud computing, enterprise applications, and cybersecurity.
- Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Windows Server (2016–2022), virtualization technologies, and enterprise applications.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, and hybrid identity environments, including Azure AD Connect.
- Experience administering Microsoft Purview solutions for data governance and compliance.
- Experience with Hyper-V and Scale Computing (KVM) environments.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems in a manufacturing environment; ERP implementation experience is considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of SQL, SSIS, RSAT, Azure DevOps, Lifecycle Services (LCS), and the development of complex cross-functional technology solutions.
- Experience with data warehousing, Power BI, DAX, data modeling, Power Query, visualization techniques, performance tuning, and data security.
- Experience with Microsoft Synapse, Dataverse, Power Platform, and Power Apps.
- Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Experience providing desk-side and remote hardware and software support.
- Strong technical documentation and end-user support skills.
- Ability to work independently, maintain a high level of attention to detail, and effectively prioritize tasks.
- Willingness to work extended hours as required.
