About the job
Field Application Engineer (FAE) – Mechanical, Installation & Go-Live (IGL)About Walker Digital Table Systems
Walker Digital Table Systems (WDTS) is a global leader in intelligent table-game technology. Our patented PJM 3.0 RFID platform, together with Perfect Table, Perfect Pay and Perfect Cage, gives casino operators real-time game intelligence from the gaming floor to the executive dashboard. We are headquartered in Las Vegas, with offices in Macau, India and Australia, and our technology runs in leading casinos across North America, Asia and Australia.
About the role
Bridge design engineering, manufacturing and field deployment by owning the mechanical build-out of Walker Digital Table Systems (WDTS) intelligent table-game installations, covering millwork integration, insert fitment, cage fabrication, and hardware installation and verification.
Verify supplier builds against CAD drawings and electronic Bills of Materials (eBOMs), resolve fitment discrepancies within established tolerances, and redline or escalate designs when field conditions require it.
Deliver casino properties to go-live through site surveys, installation, user acceptance testing (UAT), punch-list closure and as-built documentation, while feeding field findings and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) recommendations back to Engineering and Manufacturing.
This is a hands-on engineering role. You'll spend your time on factory floors, in casino back-of-house areas and at the table itself, making sure every installation is built right, fits right and is handed over ready for the floor.
What you'll do
• Fit, install and align inserts, cages and electronic hardware into gaming-table millwork at customer casinos and supplier factories.
• Install, test and troubleshoot WDTS hardware during table builds and go-live deployments.
• Visit supplier factories to verify builds against drawings and eBOMs, and drive any rework to closure before shipment.
• Conduct pre-installation site surveys and write clear technical assessment reports.
• Support user acceptance testing, close punch-list items and produce as-built documentation for client handover.
• Share field findings and design-for-manufacturability ideas with Engineering and Manufacturing to make the next design better.
• Track install kits, tools and logistics; maintain risk logs; support demo setups and post-go-live support tickets.
What we're looking for
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET), or a closely related technical discipline (e.g., Industrial, Aerospace, Mechatronics, or Engineering Technology).
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in field application engineering, mechanical assembly, quality control or hardware integration (internships and co-ops with substantial hands-on responsibility count toward this).
• High proficiency reading 2D/3D CAD drawings, interpreting GD&T, and navigating electronic BOMs.
• Working knowledge of millwork, sheet-metal fabrication, structural fitment and manufacturing processes; ability to spot costly or quality-compromising construction flaws.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and fitment issues independently within tolerance limits.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, domestic and international, to supplier factories and customer sites, including overnight and short-notice trips.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board gaming-employee registration and any other gaming registrations required in jurisdictions where work is performed.
• Valid passport, or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
• Proficiency with computer applications relevant to the role and with AI tools, including generative AI, as a daily productivity tool.
• Professional-level written and spoken English.
Nice to have
• Experience in gaming, kiosk, commercial cabinetry/millwork or consumer-electronics hardware environments.
• Familiarity with electronic BOMs, PCB/PCBA layouts, connector interfaces or basic hardware troubleshooting (detailed PCB design or electrical engineering ownership is not required).
• Hands-on use of a CAD platform such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Inventor.
• Experience supporting UAT, punch lists and formal client handover.
• Experience working with overseas suppliers or colleagues across time zones.
• Valid driver's license (for travel to customer and supplier sites).
Skills that will help you succeed
• Confident reading of 2D/3D CAD drawings and GD&T, with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Inventor.
• Practical knowledge of millwork, sheet-metal fabrication and precision measurement.
• Clear technical writing: site reports, defect notices and redlines.
• Comfort using Microsoft 365 and generative-AI tools every day to work faster and more accurately.
• Calm, independent problem-solving when you're on site and the go-live clock is running.
Work location, travel & physical requirements
• Lift, carry and position components and assemblies of up to 50 lbs; team lifts for heavier items.
• Stand, walk, kneel, crouch and reach for extended periods; work inside and beneath gaming-table cabinetry and in confined spaces.
• Use hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments; fine motor control and near visual acuity to read small markings and connectors.
• Work in manufacturing and supplier factory environments (noise, dust, machinery; required PPE such as safety glasses and safety footwear) and in casino environments that may include noise, bright lighting and, in some jurisdictions, second-hand smoke.
• Travel up to 50% by air and ground, including international travel and extended trips; work evenings, nights or weekends during go-live windows.
• Work primarily on-site at the WDTS Las Vegas office, supplier facilities and customer properties; this is not a remote role.
WDTS provides reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with disabilities, and for pregnancy, childbirth and related conditions, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and Nevada law. Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $70,000 – $90,000 per year. Where you fall in the range depends on your job-related skills and experience. This is a full-time, exempt position.
Conditions of employment
Offers depend on a satisfactory background check (run only after a conditional offer), verification of US work authorization, and the ability to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board gaming-employee registration and any other gaming registrations required where you work.
