About the job
SuiteGrowth builds AI patient communication for UK dental practices. Emma, our WhatsApp receptionist, follows up after appointments, handles reminders and treatment-plan follow-ups, and routes a patient to a human when something is wrong. Eight practices use the live product every day. A wrong answer reaches a real patient, and practice managers tell us about it quickly. We are hiring an AI Engineer to take a reported failure from screenshot to verified fix. You will reconstruct what happened, separate evidence from guesses, direct a coding agent with a tightly scoped brief, review its change, build the regression fixture, and ship through the release checks. The result we need is fewer repeat failures and safer patient messages, not a count of tickets closed or code written. You will work directly with the current engineer and the dentist founders. The product uses TypeScript, Next.js, Supabase Postgres, Vercel, Claude, 360dialog and Dentally. You should have at least two years of professional software experience, be comfortable reading code you did not write, use coding agents as a normal part of your work, and write clear English. A degree is not required. Every shipped change needs a test proved to fail on the old code, a full suite pass, a typecheck at or below baseline, a named rollback command written before deploy, and an adversarial review. You will explain what the evidence proves and what remains uncertain. Passing tests alone do not settle a patient-facing decision. Remote, full time; India preferred. Work is measured by completed tasks and agreed deadlines, which may change during development. Coordinate with the UK team when a task needs it; there is no fixed daily hours block. We will share the current pay range privately before asking you to complete a written exercise. The cross-border working arrangement will be agreed before an offer or paid work. To express interest, do not send a CV. Send (1) a link to one product or code change you personally built, (2) what broke in it and how you proved the cause or fix, and (3) a brief note on how you use coding agents and review their output. Tell us your professional experience and whether you can coordinate with the UK team when needed. If the role and pay fit, the next step is a short hypothetical no-code exercise about a patient conversation, followed by a discussion of your existing work. We will not ask you to do unpaid product work. Any real product task will have its scope and payment agreed before it begins.
