Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to lead fund and marketing
reporting initiatives within the asset management domain. The role bridges business and
technology, combining requirements analysis, hands-on data work in Python and SQL, and the
delivery of accurate, high-quality reports and presentations.
The candidate will be hands-on in producing reports, validating data, and automating reporting
workflows, while also serving as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, owning
the end-to-end reporting process and guiding a distributed team as business needs expand.
Key Responsibilities:
Hands-on Delivery:
- Generate and deliver reports as per agreed schedules, formats, and quality standards.
- Extract, validate, transform, and reconcile financial data using SQL.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate data preparation and repor generation.
- Build and maintain PowerPoint presentations and report templates for consistent, high quality outputs.
- Perform data quality checks on financial data and performance figures before reports are shared for review.
- Manage file transfers and data movement using FTP/SFTP and basic Linux commands.
- Investigate and resolve data and reporting issues in collaboration with business and technical teams.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
Process Ownership:
- Own the report generation workstream, including planning, prioritization, and delivery.
- Establish and document the end-to-end reporting process, from data sourcing and validation to review, approval, and distribution.
- Define review checkpoints with business and compliance stakeholders to ensure data and formats are accurate and approved.
- Partner with operations and support teams to transition stable processes into business-as-usual support.
Stakeholder Management and Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders on reporting requests and new initiatives.
- Translate new initiatives into clear requirements, priorities, and delivery plans.
- Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders and leadership.
- Present reports and improvement ideas to business and senior audiences in a clear, business-friendly language.
Team Leadership:
- Guide and mentor team members, including task allocation, quality reviews, and coordination across time zones.
- Scale the team and processes as demand grows through standardized templates, runbooks, and onboarding of new team members.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or Data/Reporting, Analyst, preferably in financial services or asset management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with business and senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to gather requirements, map business processes, and translate them into clear technical specifications.
- Strong hands-on Python skills for data processing and automating repetitive reporting tasks.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, validation, and reconciliation across databases.
- Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills, including building and maintaining templated, data driven presentations.
- Working knowledge of financial concepts, investment products, and investment performance metrics.
- Basic Linux commands and FTP/SFTP file transfers.
- Experience leading or mentoring team members in a global delivery model.
Good to Have:
- Hands-on experience with the Seismic platform, especially content automation and document generation.
- Exposure to financial data platforms and content management systems.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Finance, Business, or a related field.
