Lead Workday Software Engineer

This Lead Workday Software Engineer role is a 12-Month Contract-to-Hire with a client located in Plano, TX.

Pay Range: $60/hr. - $70/hr. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

The ideal candidate will be more than a functional Workday resource. Client is looking for a strong technical leader and software engineer who can solve complex problems, communicate effectively, influence others, and eventually grow into a larger leadership role within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical leader within the Workday organization.
• Design, develop, enhance, and support Workday solutions.
• Work across Workday Core HCM, Finance, and Integrations.
• Apply strong software engineering principles to Workday development and solutions.
• Analyze complex technical and business problems and develop effective solutions.
• Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members.
• Help drive technical strategy and direction for the organization.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing Workday capabilities, processes, and solutions.
• Collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
• Bring a forward-thinking mindset around emerging technologies, including AI and AI-enabled software engineering tools.
• Contribute to a growing Workday Enterprise Capabilities organization with the potential to take on increased leadership responsibilities over time.

• Strong professional experience with Workday.
• Strong Core HCM experience.
• Strong Workday Finance experience.
• Strong Workday Integrations experience.
• Strong software engineering background.
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to approach complex technical challenges and clearly articulate the process used to solve them.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business partners, and leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to influence others and drive initiatives forward.
