We're building a platform that connects learners with human tutors while using AI to enhance—not replace—the learning experience.

The Role

We're looking for a Founding Full-Stack Engineer who wants to help build a product and engineering organization from the ground up.

You'll work directly with the founder and have meaningful influence over architecture, engineering standards, product decisions, infrastructure, and the technical direction of SkyyLearn.

This is an early-stage startup role. We're looking for someone comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, high ownership, and building systems from zero to production.

What You'll Work On

Build and maintain applications using React and TypeScript
Design backend services using Node.js and Python
Build secure REST APIs and service integrations
Design PostgreSQL data models and application architecture
Develop authentication, authorization, and user-management systems
Integrate AI and LLM capabilities into the SkyyLearn platform
Build tutoring, messaging, scheduling, payments, and marketplace functionality
Help design real-time tutoring and communication experiences
Implement testing, observability, CI/CD, and deployment infrastructure
Participate in architecture and product decisions
Establish engineering standards as the team grows
Help evaluate and mentor future engineering hires

What We're Looking For

3+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals
Experience with React and modern frontend development
Experience building APIs with Node.js
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
Understanding of cloud infrastructure and production deployments
Experience with Git and collaborative software-development workflows
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Comfortable operating in an early-stage startup environment

Nice to Have

Python experience
AWS or other cloud-platform experience
AI/LLM integration experience
Marketplace or EdTech experience
Payments integration experience
Real-time video, messaging, or WebSocket experience
Mobile development experience
Previous startup experience

We are remote-first and focused on building a small, highly capable founding team.

Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 annual base salary

Equity: Approximately 1%–2.5%, depending on experience, responsibility, and overall compensation structure

Location: Remote — United States
