About the job

Technical Product Intern

About the job

At SignSetu, we are dedicated to transforming Deaf education through our innovative learning platform. Our mission is to empower Deaf learners and promote their educational growth.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse team at SignSetu. We believe that talent and skills come in various forms, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and categories as long as they possess the passion and dedication required for the position.

We're looking for someone who naturally thinks:

“Why are we building this?”
“Will users actually find this useful?”
“What happens when someone uses it differently than we expected?”
“Can we make this experience better?”

This role sits at the intersection of Product, AI and Technology.

You'll work closely with our engineering team to understand user problems, shape features, help build them, test them, and eventually ship them to real users.

You won't just be observing how products are made.

You'll actually be part of making them.

What You'll Do

  • Think like a product person: understand user problems, explore solutions, question requirements, identify gaps and suggest better ways to solve them.
  • Help shape features: turn rough ideas into clear user flows, requirements and acceptance criteria alongside the product and engineering team.
  • Get hands-on with shipping: under guidance, contribute to features and improvements that actually make it into the product and reach real users.
  • Work with AI-powered products: experiment with AI features, understand where they work well, where they fail, and how they can become useful product experiences.
  • Understand the technology: get enough exposure to frontend, APIs, databases and the codebase to understand what's possible and communicate effectively with engineers.
  • Own the experience: test what we build, find edge cases, spot confusing UX, investigate problems and make sure the final experience actually works for users.
  • Learn from real users: use feedback, behaviour and real-world usage to help us improve what we've already shipped.

What We're Looking For

We're not looking for someone who has memorised a list of tools.

We're looking for someone who is curious about products and obsessed with figuring things out.

You should have:

  • Strong curiosity about products, users, technology and AI
  • Good problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Basic understanding of web technology, APIs and how software works
  • Enough technical ability to communicate with engineers and get hands-on when needed
  • Strong attention to detail and a habit of asking “what if?”
  • The confidence to question things and suggest better ideas

A CS degree isn't mandatory.

A side project, startup idea, app, AI experiment, automation, college project, design experiment or anything you've built is far more interesting to us than a perfect resume.

Why This Role Is Different

This isn't a traditional product internship where you spend your time making decks and documentation.

And it isn't a traditional engineering internship where you're given a ticket and told to code.

You'll learn what happens in the middle:

Problem → Idea → Product Decision → Build → Test → Ship → Real Users → Learn → Improve

You'll get to work closely with the people actually building SignSetu, contribute to production features under guidance, and gradually take more ownership as you learn.

Because we're an AI-first startup, you'll also get to see how AI moves from an interesting demo into something people can actually use.

You might help rethink a feature in the morning, experiment with an AI workflow in the afternoon, and then help ship an improved version that week.

If you want to understand how great products are actually built — and get your hands dirty doing it, this is for you.
