Senior Software Engineer Rust

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design and build scalable, high-performance software across our AI products and customer solutions.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will take ownership of significant engineering projects, contribute to architectural decisions, mentor other engineers and work directly with customers and partners when required.
You will collaborate with our engineering, research, product and design teams to bring AI prototypes and models into reliable production environments. Our products include speech AI, conversational AI, multimodal systems and real-time communication services.
Our core systems run primarily on Linux, with a strong focus on reliability, throughput and low latency. Our main technology stack includes Rust, Python and C++, supported by Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.

As a Senior Software Engineer, your main responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture and delivery of significant software projects
• Develop high-performance backend services, APIs, SDKs and integrations
• Build and optimise real-time, streaming and low-latency systems
• Work with AI researchers to productionise models and prototypes
• Translate customer and product requirements into practical technical solutions
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Improve system performance, reliability, security, testing and observability

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of professional software development experience
• Degree in Computer Science or another relevant technical field
• Strong experience with Rust is mandatory, modern C++ or another systems programming language on Linux
• Good knowledge of Python and experience across multiple programming languages
• Strong understanding of software architecture, data structures, algorithms and communication protocols
• Experience building backend services, APIs and distributed hi-performance systems
• Experience with software testing, Docker, Kubernetes, modern deployment practices
• Experience owning technical projects and mentoring other engineers
• Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills
• Regular use of AI coding assistants such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex or equivalent

Advantageous:

• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js or frameworks such as React or Vue
• Experience with conversational AI or machine learning applications
• Experience with real-time audio, WebSockets, WebRTC or streaming technologies
• Experience productionising models using PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar frameworks
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities
