About the job

The company

Bodyswaps helps colleges and universities teach the communication skills students need for work and life. Students practice realistic conversations with AI characters, from job interviews to patient handovers to difficult conversations, and get personalized AI feedback on how they did.

Educators build learning pathways from our library of 30+ modules and our no-code AI Roleplay Builder, then track progress through class and institution-level analytics. It runs in the browser, on desktop and on mobile, and integrates with the LMS.

We work with over 300 institutions and partners, including UCLA, Yale, Cornell, Columbia, UNC Chapel Hill and the NHS, and our impact has been research backed. We have offices in Raleigh, London and Vancouver. The US is our fastest-growing market, and this hire is part of how we scale it.

The role

You will win new US colleges and universities by selling into academic programs, not just central IT or procurement. Think nursing, social work, business, engineering, criminal justice, teacher education, careers services and law.

Most of our deals start with a structured pilot or program run with faculty over a semester, then convert to a paid license. You will own that full journey: find the right department, set up the pilot, make sure it produces evidence, and close the contract.

This is a ground-floor role in our US business, ideally based in our Raleigh office. You will help shape how we sell in the US: the target list, the pitch, how we run pilots and who we hire next. You will work closely with our New Business Lead in London, our CRO in Raleigh, and customer success, marketing and product, and your ideas will be used, not just heard.

We want this person to grow with the US business. For someone who performs, there is a real path to progression.

What you'll do

  • Build and run your own pipeline of US institutions, from first outreach to signed contract
  • Target academic departments and program leads, and map the full buying group: faculty, deans, instructional design, IT and procurement
  • Recruit institutions into pilot and program cohorts, and set clear success criteria with faculty before they start
  • Turn pilot results into business cases and paid contracts
  • Work inbound leads and generate your own through outbound, webinars, conferences and campus visits
  • Keep HubSpot accurate and forecast honestly
  • Hand over cleanly to customer success and stay involved in expansion opportunities
  • Feed back what you hear from the market to marketing and product

What you'll need

Must-haves

  • 3+ years in B2B sales, with a track record of hitting quota
  • Comfort with long sales cycles & relationship building (often 3 to 9 months) and working with multiple stakeholders
  • Consultative style: you ask good questions and build trust with non-technical buyers like faculty
  • Self-starter who builds pipeline and manages your own time, whether in the office or remote

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience selling into higher education, healthcare education, public sector or similar complex institutions
  • Edtech, learning technology or training sales experience
  • Existing relationships in nursing, health sciences, business or career services
  • Familiarity with university procurement, RFPs and budget cycles
  • Experience in an early-stage or scaling SaaS company

Who you are

  • Curious about how people learn and genuinely care whether the product works for students
  • Organized and disciplined with your pipeline and follow-up
  • Honest with customers and with your own forecast
  • Ambitious to help build our US team and, in time, lead it

Compensation and benefits

  • $90,000 base salary plus $60,000 uncapped commission at target, for $150,000 on-target earnings
  • Health, dental and vision insurance by United Health - Choice Plus
  • Unlimited holiday allowance. On average our employees take 25-30 days per annum.
  • Annual learning and development budget for courses, conferences and workshops
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Paid sabbatical after 5 years
  • 1 day of volunteering leave per year
  • Quarterly team days and regular company off-sites
  • Travel to campuses, conferences, and our London office
