About the job
About Economic Impact Catalyst
We're a B2B SaaS company. Our platform, Catalyzer, is the software that government agencies, nonprofits, incubators, SBDCs, CDFIs, and economic development organizations run their small business programs on. It's used by organizations across 35+ states, supporting programs that have facilitated more than $200M in capital to underserved entrepreneurs.
The Role
This role reports directly to our CEO. When a deal closes, you become the client's project manager and the face of EIC. You own the rollout of Catalyzer from kickoff through go-live: building the plan, rallying our internal team around it, keeping client stakeholders engaged and on schedule, and making sure their staff go live confident on the platform.
Many of our clients are state agencies, SBDC networks, and municipal offices, so showing up matters. You'll lead in-person kickoffs, working sessions, and training, and you'll be the person on site when a client needs support. Expect to travel roughly half the time.
The right person for this seat gets a charge out of solving problems on the fly and out of meeting new people. Every deployment is a new organization, a new set of stakeholders, and a new set of wrinkles to work through. You should already have, or want to build, your own visible presence in this space: showing up at conferences, building relationships across the SBDC/CDFI/EDO world, and becoming someone clients and partners recognize and trust.
You'll start as a solo contributor with your own book of implementations. As our client base grows, this role is expected to grow into a lead position that helps shape how a future deployment team works.
What You'll Own
- Client-facing project management. Building and holding the deployment timeline, running kickoff, and keeping client stakeholders and internal teams aligned through launch.
- Rallying the team. Coordinating our product, technical, and client success teams across time zones so each deployment gets what it needs, when it needs it.
- On-site presence. Leading in-person kickoffs, working sessions, and go-live support for state agencies, SBDCs, and municipal offices.
- Training and enablement. Running live and virtual sessions for client staff, from program directors to frontline advisors, so they're self-sufficient at go-live.
- Data migration coordination. Working with our technical team and the client to scope, map, and validate the move from legacy systems and spreadsheets, so program history and reporting continuity carry over.
- Documentation and sign-off. Maintaining implementation records, decisions, and client approval at each milestone.
- Clean handoff to Client Success. What you deploy, our CSM team sustains. You're accountable for setting accounts up to succeed after go-live.
- Building the playbook and the brand. Helping define the processes a future deployment team will run on, while building your own reputation as a go-to voice in the economic development space.
What We're Looking For
- Energized by problem-solving. You like walking into a messy, half-documented situation and figuring out how to get it working.
- Genuinely energized by meeting people. New clients, new stakeholders, and a room full of program staff feel like an opportunity, not a chore.
- Mission-driven. You care about the outcome, not just the software. This work moves real capital to underserved entrepreneurs.
- Has, or wants to build, a personal brand in this space. Comfortable being the recognizable face of EIC at conferences, in client relationships, and across the SBDC/CDFI/EDO network.
- Strong project management instincts. You can hold a multi-week timeline together across internal and client stakeholders, and you keep momentum when things slip.
- A natural rallier. You bring people together and get a distributed team pulling in the same direction without needing formal authority.
- Polished, confident client presence, comfortable in the room with executives, program directors, and frontline staff alike.
- Comfort running live training for non-technical, sometimes lower-tech-fluency audiences.
- Working familiarity with data migration or system implementations — you don't have to write the scripts, but you can manage the process well.
- Comfort operating as a solo contributor from day one, with no scaffolding in place at the start.
- Strong written communication for implementation documentation and client updates.
- Public sector, grants, economic development, workforce, or nonprofit experience is a plus.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
