Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Signal 1 is a 30-person, well-funded and rapidly growing startup with strong product market fit and deployments at a growing number of top-20 US health systems.

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our small, hands-on Infrastructure Team. You will:

• Design, build, and run the Azure infrastructure behind Signal 1's products using infrastructure as code.
• Build deployment pipelines that take code from commit to production across multiple environments.
• Help shape the architecture of the whole system, from the application to the infrastructure and everything in between.
• Troubleshoot live issues together with our software engineers.
• Build full-stack internal tools that automate the Infrastructure Team's everyday work.
• Keep the platform secure, compliant, and reliable, including monitoring, backups, and recovery.
• Own components and projects from idea to production, and bring new ideas that make the whole team faster.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Production experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and continuous integration and delivery tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Strong networking knowledge, including designing and building secure cloud networks.
• Strong Python and Bash scripting skills, and the ability to read and understand application code.
• A clear understanding of how every part of a modern software system works together, end to end.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to pick up context fast, bring useful ideas to technical discussions, and explain complex topics in plain words.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure, Terragrunt, Istio, and Datadog.
• Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS environments where each customer's data is isolated.
• Experience building full-stack internal tools, such as deployment or operations tools.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and SOC 2, and experience handling protected health information (PHI).
• Experience deploying software into customer-managed or private network environments.
• Experience in small startup teams that build and ship fast.
