Part-Time Full-Stack Engineer — Python/Django, React, AWS

Serava is an early-stage AI-powered residential real estate analytics platform helping investors evaluate properties and make better investment decisions. We currently operate across California, Texas, and Florida and combine property data, financial analysis, and AI-generated investment insights.
We’re looking for a part-time Full-Stack Engineer who can take meaningful ownership across both backend and frontend development and work directly with the founder and a small remote team.
This is not a narrow frontend or backend role. We need someone comfortable working across the application, debugging production issues, integrating APIs, handling payments and backend logic, and shipping practical improvements quickly.
What you’ll work on

• Build and maintain backend functionality using Python/Django
• Work on frontend functionality and UX improvements
• Integrate and maintain third-party APIs and data providers
• Support Stripe payments, subscriptions, webhooks, and billing logic
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve application reliability
• Work with AWS-hosted infrastructure and deployments
• Maintain and improve database/application logic
• Support analytics/event tracking and application monitoring
• Work closely with AI/ML functionality and AI-generated property reports
• Review existing code and improve it pragmatically without unnecessary rewrites Must have
• Strong Python and Django experience
• Full-stack web development experience
• Experience working with REST APIs
• JavaScript/frontend development experience
• SQL/database experience
• Git/GitHub workflow experience
• Ability to debug production issues independently
• Strong written English and clear communication in a remote environment
• Comfortable working in an early-stage startup where priorities can change quickly Strongly preferred
• React or similar modern frontend framework experience
• AWS experience
• Stripe/payment integration experience
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with AI/LLM integrations or AI-powered products
• Experience with analytics tools, Sentry, or production monitoring
• Previous startup experience What we’re looking for We care more about practical ownership than job titles. You should be comfortable receiving a problem, investigating the existing system, proposing a solution, and implementing it with limited supervision. We are specifically looking for someone who can work across both frontend and backend rather than someone specialized in only one area. Schedule
• Approximately 20 hours/week initially
• Remote
• At least 3–4 hours of overlap with 8:00 AM–12:00 PM U.S. Pacific Time on working days
