Position Summary

The Technology Systems Programmer (First Shift) is responsible for programming, configuring, maintaining, and supporting security technology systems, including video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems. This role works with a variety of manufacturer platforms and software applications to ensure systems are properly configured, functional, and aligned with customer and company requirements.

The Technology Systems Programmer also provides administrative and technical support through data entry, customer and application verification, system troubleshooting, and the use of various software and web-based platforms. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, organization, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program and configure security system components from manufacturers including DMP, Honeywell, Bosch, DSC, Brivo, Eagle Eye, and other related platforms
  • Implement programming solutions for video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and related security technologies
  • Configure and maintain security system software, applications, and web-based platforms
  • Enter and maintain accurate customer demographic and system information
  • Verify customer information, application information, and system configuration data for accuracy
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and verification to identify and resolve programming or configuration issues
  • Recognize, assess, and communicate problems and issues affecting system functionality or customer information
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective integration, programming, and functionality of security systems
  • Utilize multiple software applications, databases, and web-based systems to support daily operations
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to customer accounts, system programming, and configuration
  • Stay current with industry trends, manufacturer technologies, software updates, and emerging security technologies
  • Prioritize assignments and responsibilities based on deadlines, workflow, and business needs
  • Provide professional and effective communication with customers, employees, vendors, and internal departments as required
  • Compose and respond to business-related emails and other professional correspondence
  • Follow company procedures and maintain a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Support other technology and administrative functions as assigned to meet business needs

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Windows operating system
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and work with multiple security system programming platforms and manufacturer-specific software
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to recognize, assess, and communicate problems and issues effectively

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience with security systems, IT support, technical programming, or a related field preferred
  • Experience with security platforms such as DMP, Honeywell, Bosch, DSC, Brivo, Eagle Eye, or similar systems preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Windows-based systems required
  • Experience working with software applications, databases, or web-based systems preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
