Development Manager - SPP & WECC

The Manager, Development is responsible for driving the development of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects in the WECC and SPP pipeline throughout the project lifecycle. This role leads day-to-day project activities and strategy, manages stakeholder and landowner relationships, negotiates project agreements, resolves development challenges, supports transaction and diligence efforts, and coordinates with internal and external partners to achieve key development milestones.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the day-to-day development of multiple utility-scale solar and energy storage projects from site control through Notice to Proceed (NTP).
• Cultivate and manage relationships with landowners, community members, elected officials, regulators, and other key stakeholders, including negotiating agreements and resolving issues to support successful project advancement.
• Maintain accurate project records, budgets, schedules, milestones, contracts, payments, and stakeholder communications within the company's SiteTracker environment.
• Identify project risks, constraints, and critical path items, and develop strategies to advance projects while mitigating risk.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to evaluate project opportunities, address development challenges, and advance projects toward key development milestones.
• Support project financings and transactions by coordinating diligence efforts, managing project information, and responding to requests from investors, lenders, and potential project buyers.
• Manage relationships with consultants, utilities, development partners, external stakeholders, and other third parties to support project development objectives.
• Perform due diligence on new project opportunities, including internally originated projects, acquisitions, and development partnerships.
• Negotiate and manage key project agreements, including land, development, consultant, and other project-related contracts, as needed to support project advancement.

Qualifications:

• 5 or more years’ experience developing utility-scale solar PV or energy storage projects
• Relevant experience in WECC and SPP markets
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Additional Information:

• Remote with in-office option. Up to 25% travel.
