Art Director (Beauty Focus)
About the Role
Art Director: 3-4 years in-house experience required
Start Date: ASAP; October 2026
Employment Type: Full-Time, In-House
Location: Must be based in Los Angeles Metro and available to attend multiple photo/social content shoots a month
We’re Sincerely Yours, a skincare and entertainment forward lifestyle brand built for teens and young adults. We are seeking our first full-time, in-house Art Director who will lead and execute the brand's visual identity (including graphic design) across digital, social, and IRL touchpoints. This role is meant for a multihyphenate Art Director who’s energized in a fast-paced start-up environment with a strong pulse and interest in Gen Alpha and Gen Z pop culture/social trends. This role requires someone who is confident art directing and designing social-first, entertaining creative, but who can also flex into elevated campaign work that translates well in the Sephora landscape.
You must be comfortable working with celebrity talent and be able to lead multiple photo / content shoots a month (including after-school hours and occasional weekends).
**APPLICATIONS WITHOUT A CREATIVE PORTFOLIO WILL BE IGNORED.**
In order to be considered for this role, your resume must include a direct link to your portfolio.
What You’ll Do
- You’ll be a thought leader and strategic partner to the Creative Director; present creative work clearly and confidently to Creative Director and internal stakeholders such as our Co-Founders, CMO and social team.
- You’ll ensure 360 visual consistency across all consumer touchpoints
- You’ll partner closely with our graphic designer, dreaming up and designing assets across social, Sephora’s visual merchandising, PR packaging, and events/activations
- You’ll operate at the intersection of strategic art direction and hands-on design execution, ideating concepts from briefs to leading the execution and delivery of assets from pre and post production across all brand channels.
- You’ll actively drive brainstorming and cross-functional ideation, bringing sharp, on-the-pulse cultural and social trend awareness to the table.
- You will translate creative direction into compelling social-first creative concepts, PR stunts, campaigns, event activations and storytelling across global channels for a packed launch and activation calendar.
- You’ll evolve the brand’s social expression by creating work that balances both entertainment-forward video content with elevated, beauty-forward education.
- You’ll build visual mood boards and pre-production decks that communicate clear art direction and shot lists for GTM presentations and photo shoots.
- You’ll attend photo/video shoots (across big campaigns and smaller social content production), art direct on set, be responsible for overall aesthetic, etc. You’re okay with the occasional weekend shoot and meeting up with our social team during late afternoon weekday shoots.
- You’ll oversee the post-production process after shoots: organize files, make image and video selects, provide clear retouching/color grading notes, work with video editors and ensure projects are delivered on time.
- You’ll partner closely with external agencies, creators, photographers, videographers, prop stylists and production partners
- You’ll be a project manager for your work—tracking timelines, organizing files, and communicating clearly with the Creative Director and stakeholders, delivering assets on time
Who You Are
- You’re curious and motivated to work in a small yet dynamic team; you don’t bring ego into the work and don’t take yourself too seriously :-)
- You have an open + get gritty mindset; you’re okay wearing many hats and shifting priorities when needed as this is a true startup environment
- You’re organized, self-directed, and able to act as your own project manager
- You’re an exceptional conceptual thinker with a refined creative point of view who understands our Gen Alpha customer
- You understand how to adapt campaign narratives into social-first creative content
- You’re able to execute elevated graphic design work while bringing a playful and human touch lens into your creative vision and execution
- You’re comfortable flexing across different mediums including both digital and print
- You’re able to clearly present work and respond to feedback in a timely manner
