Senior Epidemiologist

Job Summary

Biobot is seeking a customer-facing leader to join the epidemiology team and manage partnerships across wastewater treatment facilities and public health agencies, including state and local governments. This role works directly with treatment facility staff and local public health professionals, while coordinating internally with epidemiology, sales, and customer experience teams. The candidate will act as a technical sales partner supporting customer acquisition, site recruitment, and ensuring a high-quality experience across every state of the partner lifecycle.

Education and work experience:

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, or related field; bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience will be considered.
• 5+ years experience in public health program management, epidemiology, environmental health, or related field.
• Curiosity to develop expertise in both infectious disease epidemiology and substance use epidemiology
• Strong track record of partnership development and relationship management, ideally in public health or utilities.
• Ability to communicate complex wastewater topics to non-scientific audiences, both orally and in writing.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting epidemiologic and/or environmental monitoring data.
• Ability to perform basic calculations and data visualizations using R or Python.
• Tech savviness – Biobot uses tools like Slack, G Suite, Zendesk, Salesforce, and Jira.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize among multiple important tasks in a dynamic environment.

Bonus:

• Experience advising wastewater treatment facilities operators, public health practitioners, government officials, community leaders, or business leaders on wastewater epidemiology.
• Experience in sales, business development, partnerships or account management.

Physical requirements:

• Required standing or sitting for several hours at a time.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and video conferencing for several hours each day.
• Occasional travel may be required for team onsites and offsites, industry events and conferences, or partner visits.
