Senior System Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a Direct Hire job with a client in Irvine CA 92606. Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the system engineering development processes, such as ARP 4754 or IEEE 632 and Aerospace industry.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 Per Annum with benefits (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors).

Role Summary

Lead systems engineering activities for next-generation military and commercial aircraft, covering requirements, system design, integration, verification, validation, qualification, and lifecycle support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage system requirements, interfaces, architecture, and traceability.
• Plan and execute system verification, validation, testing, and qualification.
• Perform trade studies, impact analysis, modeling, and failure analysis.
• Review customer specifications and ensure regulatory and industry compliance.
• Support new product development, design changes, certification, and Change Control Board (CCB) activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, program teams, and customers to resolve technical issues.
• Support Design Reviews, Design for Manufacturability/Cost, and product lifecycle activities.
• Identify failure modes and drive effective design improvements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience in aerospace systems and electrical/mechanical/software system development.
• Proficiency with MBSE (Cameo or equivalent) and requirements tools such as DOORS.
• Knowledge of ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and systems engineering processes.
• MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical presentation skills.
• Self-directed with ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
