Database Security Engineer

This Database Security Engineer role is a 12-Month Contract with a client located in Richmond, VA.

Pay Range: $60/hr. - $65/hr. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Job Summary:

Seeking a Database Security Engineer with strong hands-on Imperva DAM/SecureSphere experience and a solid database administration background.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Imperva DAM/SecureSphere.
• Maintain monitoring coverage across critical databases.
• Troubleshoot missing activity, agent outages, and logging interruptions.
• Work with DBAs to identify and resolve monitoring gaps.
• Strengthen database security policies and address policy drift.
• Automate health checks, monitoring verification, and reporting.
• Support Imperva upgrades, vendor escalations, and complex issues.

Required Skills:

• Hands-on Imperva DAM/SecureSphere.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, and Teradata.
• Database architecture, querying, logging, and system catalogs.
• Troubleshooting database monitoring/recording issues.
• Scripting/automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or REST APIs.
• Strong security troubleshooting and ownership mindset.
