We're looking for a Founding Software Engineer to join WhipScribe and work directly with the founding team on a real product used by real customers.

We're looking for someone who:

• Builds without waiting for detailed instructions.
• Can take an idea from problem → solution → implementation → deployment.
• Has strong product and UI/UX judgment.
• Uses AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, and coding agents effectively.
• Understands, validates, and improves AI-generated work rather than blindly accepting it.
• Is comfortable working across technologies and learning quickly.
• Cares about what reaches the customer, not just what works locally.
• Takes ownership and enjoys working in a fast-moving startup environment.

The Challenge

The Buildathon repository contains multiple tracks, including:

Track 1 — Find What Is Wrong
Use WhipScribe on desktop and mobile, identify meaningful product/UI/UX problems, and propose improvements.

Track 2 — Build the Desktop App
Build a real desktop meeting-recording experience integrated with WhipScribe.

Track 3 — Google Drive, Bulk Upload & Search
Build a workflow for processing recordings from Google Drive and searching across their transcripts.

Track 4 — Invent a Workflow
Identify a real problem that can be solved with audio/video intelligence and build the workflow using the WhipScribe API, MCP server, or both.

You can choose one or more tracks.

Don't Optimize for Size

We don't expect you to build a huge system.

One small, polished feature that actually works is better than a massive unfinished project.

We want to see:

Your submission should include your project/source code, explanation of what you built, demo where applicable, and the other information requested by the selected challenge track.

Please do not submit a proposal without first reading the Buildathon repository.

What Happens Next

We review your work based on the quality of your thinking, implementation, product sense, and ability to ship.

Strong candidates may be invited to work with us on the real product before receiving the full-time offer, allowing both sides to evaluate the fit through actual work.
