Founding Electrical Engineer

We’re building an AI electrical engineer that can turn an idea into a working circuit board. That means teaching software to reason about circuits and make design decisions that hold up when the hardware is manufactured and powered on.

Our electrical and software engineers work side by side on real customer projects, from VR headsets to robotics. The challenges we solve on those boards shape the tools we are building to make hardware development faster.

You will take full ownership of client projects and work closely with our software and ML team. You will get broad, hands-on EE reps across a wide mix of products: VR headsets, robotics, wearables, RF and NFC, power, and more. You will help define what “10x faster hardware design” actually looks like in practice.

This is an in-person role in San Francisco. You must live here or relocate before starting.

What we are looking for:

• 1–5 years building boards; you have shipped hardware to production and know what it takes
  
• Experience with PCB design tools such as KiCad, Altium, Cadence, LTspice and similar
  
• Breadth over depth; you have touched high-speed digital, power electronics, antennas, BGA fanout, and are not afraid of what you have not done yet
  
• Process skeptic; you question how things are done and actively look for ways to make design faster, cheaper, and more reliable
  
• Love of making; you hack on passion projects in your spare time
  

Nice to have:

• Experience using generative AI technologies such as LLMs or AI agents
  
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Devin in software development
  

What you will do:

• Own 2–4 client projects at a time, from requirements to manufacturing
  
• Design across a wide range of applications: motor controllers, compute carriers, RF and antenna systems, battery management, and high-speed interfaces
  
• Work directly with customers to understand constraints and deliver solutions
  
• Help us build internal tools and automation to 10x our output
  
• Collaborate with layout specialists, firmware engineers, and manufacturing partners
