About Chip

Chip is the first mass-market American robot. He just happens to be your car.

Chip is building a new category of vehicle. Most cars are engineered for highway
speeds and long-distance range. The reality is that 60% of daily trips are under
6 miles. Chip is built for those trips: fully electric, street-legal on roads up
to 35 mph, 100+ mile range, and made to fit the way people actually move through
their neighborhoods.

We're also launching Chip Go!, a remote-driving service that keeps your
vehicle moving when you're not inside it. Say the word and he'll go off to park
himself, run an errand, get cleaned, or come get you and the family. Rolling out
regionally.

We launched publicly in July 2026 and reservations are open nationally.

The role

You read the other postings and none of them is you. Apply anyway.

We're small, we launched nationally in July 2026, and the org chart is still
being drawn. Every role we've posted is the first of its kind here, and so are
the ones we haven't written yet. A posting is us noticing a gap we already feel.
It's a slower instrument than someone telling us about a gap we haven't named,
which is what this is for.

So this isn't a placeholder posting that lands in a folder. It's the way in for
the person whose job we'd have to invent, or whose job we're about to post and
haven't. Tell us what you do, tell us what you'd own here, and be specific
enough that we can picture the first 90 days.

If you've read this far because a car with a face is the most interesting thing
you've seen in a while, that instinct is the right one. Chip only works if the
people building him think he's worth building.

We're headquartered in Miami, with people in Austin and Los Angeles. Remote
depends entirely on the work: the web and cloud side is genuinely remote-friendly,
and anything hands-on with vehicles is Miami. You'll interview with the C-suite,
because at this size everyone does.

Where you'd fit

The areas where a great person would change what we can do this year. This is
where we're looking, not a list of open jobs.

• Vehicle and embedded software. Rust on the car, Linux services, cameras, and the real-time stack behind his face, his voice, and low-latency remote driving.
• Cloud and web. Go services, Postgres, and the Next.js surface people meet him on, from the configurator through reservations and the customer portal.
• Hardware, electrical, and manufacturing. Vehicle systems, wiring, suppliers, and the work of turning a small stable of prototypes into something we build repeatably.
• Vehicle operations. Keeping prototypes alive, on the road, and on trailers between cities, plus the events where most people meet Chip in person.
• Design. Industrial, product, and brand, including the hardest one, which is what a robot's face should do when nobody is talking to him.
• Marketing and content. Social, video, partnerships, and the story that makes a 35 mph car obviously the right answer for a 6 mile trip.
• Business. Finance, supply chain, customer support, and the operational work that decides whether any of the above is affordable.

If what you do isn't on this list, that's not a no. It means you have to make
the case, and we read those.

What you'll need

• Something you've owned end to end. Not a task you were assigned, a thing that existed because you were there.
• Comfortable arriving before the function exists. No team under you at the start, no playbook, and the tools are whatever you bring or build.
• A clear answer to what you'd own here. We can't evaluate a general application against a job description, so specificity is the whole bar. "I do operations" tells us nothing. "Your Miami fleet has no maintenance schedule and I'd build one" tells us everything.
• Evidence we can look at. A repo, a reel, a shipped product, a spreadsheet, a car you built in a garage. The format doesn't matter.
• Direct, low-ego, fast.
• Based in Miami, Austin, or Los Angeles, or remote in the United States, with travel to Miami when the work touches the vehicles.

We are not expecting seniority for its own sake. If you're early in your career
and the evidence is real, send it. We've never regretted reading one of these.

Bonus points

• Early-stage hardware companies.
• EVs, mobility, fleets, or powersports.
• Robotics or consumer electronics.
• Live events, field work, and things that have to work outdoors on a schedule.
• A side project that got out of hand.
• Genuine interest in transportation.

What happens after you apply

• A person reads it. Not a keyword filter, and not eventually.
• A good application with no role attached gets kept and revisited when one opens. We'll say so if that's where yours lands, rather than leaving you guessing.
