About the Role

We are looking for a strong entry-level Java Backend Engineer who is excited about building real-world software products and solving complex engineering problems.

This is an opportunity for someone with 6+ months of hands-on Java development experience who wants to grow quickly in a product engineering environment.

You will work closely with experienced engineers to design, develop, test, debug, and improve backend services and APIs used in scalable software products.

We are looking for someone who goes beyond writing code — someone who understands why they are building something, takes ownership of their work, and is willing to learn and solve problems independently.

What You'll Do
Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
Build and integrate REST APIs and web services
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Work with SQL databases such as MySQL/PostgreSQL
Understand and work with object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
Debug issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
Write unit tests and contribute to improving code quality
Work with Git and follow good software development practices
Collaborate with senior engineers, product teams, and other developers
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
Learn and contribute to areas such as microservices, caching, messaging, Docker, and cloud technologies
Take ownership of assigned features and deliver them end-to-end
What We're Looking For
Must Have
6+ months of hands-on experience in Java backend development
Strong understanding of Core Java and OOP concepts
Good knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms
Hands-on exposure to Spring Boot
Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP concepts
Good understanding of SQL and relational databases
Familiarity with Git/version control
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Good understanding of software development fundamentals
Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced product engineering environment
Good to Have
Exposure to Spring MVC / Spring Data / Hibernate
Understanding of Microservices architecture
Exposure to MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
Familiarity with Redis or other caching technologies
Exposure to Kafka or message queues
Basic understanding of Docker and CI/CD
Exposure to AWS or any cloud platform
Internship, academic, or personal projects involving backend development
