📌 About the Role

We are seeking an enterprise-grade Senior Azure Integration Architect / Lead Developer with 8–10+ years of experience to own and drive our cloud integration team. In this role, you will operate with complete autonomy, leading complex integration projects with minimal supervision, designing robust architectures, and stepping in to troubleshoot critical production issues.

The ideal candidate bridges the gap between deep cloud development and enterprise networking. You must have advanced expertise in Azure Logic Apps and Azure API Management (APIM), including the network topology required to secure them in a hybrid or multi-cloud environment.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Architect & Drive Integration Projects: Take complete ownership of end-to-end integration life cycles with minimal supervision, converting complex business requirements into scalable Azure patterns.
• Full Lifecycle API Management: Lead the complete design, development, deployment, and operation of enterprise-grade APIs. Act as the primary expert in proactively monitoring and efficiently troubleshooting complex production API issues.
• Lead & Govern: Establish architectural standards, design review processes, and best practices. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to ensure the team adheres to strict development and deployment workflows.
• Network & Security Configuration: Design, review, and maintain network configurations critical for secure integrations (e.g., VNet Integration, Private Endpoints, NSGs, API Gateways, and hybrid connectivity via ExpressRoute/VPN).
• Legacy Modernization: Lead migration efforts from legacy platforms using specialized developer tooling to accelerate cloud-native modernization.

🔎 Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of dedicated IT experience, with a heavy focus on enterprise application integration (EAI) and cloud-native architecture.
• Core Azure Expertise: Mastery of Azure API Management (APIM) (policies, developer portals, security) and Azure Logic Apps (Standard and Consumption plans).
• Integration Protocols (Preferred): Strong hands-on experience working with REST APIs, enterprise API Gateways, and GraphQL (QL) data querying languages.
• Legacy / Hybrid Tools (Huge Plus): Hands-on knowledge of IBM Integration tools (e.g., IBM App Connect / IIB, MQ) is highly advantageous for assisting with legacy enterprise modernization.
• Advanced Tooling: Practical, hands-on experience utilizing specialized migration utilities, specifically the Azure Logic Apps Migration Agent in Visual Studio Code to transition legacy workflows.
• Infrastructure & Networking: Strong grasp of Azure networking basics relevant to integrations—including API security, VNet configurations, firewalls, and secure token validation (OAuth, mTLS).
• Process & Methodology: A disciplined approach to following organizational processes, including strict adherence to CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions), change management, and architectural documentation.
• Leadership Track Record: Previous experience serving in a Lead Developer or Architect capacity is highly preferred.
• Location & Authorization: Must be based in the Chicago, IL area for hybrid on-site requirements. Must be legally authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship. C2C vendors must have fully authorized US-based resources.
