Scanwick is Hiring — Backend Engineering Intern

Scanwick is looking for a driven Backend Engineering Intern to join our technical team as we build financial-data infrastructure for lenders and financial institutions.
We are looking for someone who understands core software engineering principles, has a solid foundational grasp of backend systems, and wants hands-on experience working on a live product codebase. You will work alongside our core backend engineering team to help us take our platform through final testing, production hardening, and launch preparation.

What You’ll Work On

• Assisting with REST API testing, documentation, and endpoint integration.
• Writing unit and integration tests to ensure data accuracy and system reliability.
• Supporting database maintenance, data normalization, and reconciliation tasks.
• Troubleshooting API bugs, log anomalies, and backend pipeline issues.
• Working directly alongside our core backend team on real-world engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of Python (FastAPI/Django) or Node.js, REST APIs, and SQL/PostgreSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git, Linux environments, and basic software testing concepts.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and acute attention to numerical detail.

We want to be 100% transparent: Scanwick is an early-stage, pre-revenue company preparing for enterprise launch. This is an unpaid internship position with no monetary salary, data stipend, or equity compensation.
