About the job
Role Overview
We are looking for a curious and detail-oriented intern to help test AI-powered products for accuracy, safety, and reliable behavior. Can you make AI invent an answer, ignore an instruction, contradict itself, or act outside its intended purpose? You will explore these failures, document them clearly, and work with engineers to verify fixes. This role combines manual testing with basic scripting. It suits someone who enjoys experimenting with AI, stays patient through repeated attempts, and speaks up about problems and possible solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Take initiative in choosing what to test next, exploring new failure cases, and sharing findings without waiting for detailed instructions.
• Turn product requirements into test cases covering expected behavior and possible failures. Ask questions when the expected result is unclear.
• Test everyday conversations, unusual inputs, spelling variations, unclear requests, and longer conversations.
• Explore jailbreak attempts: prompts designed to make AI ignore its rules or instructions.
• Check for invented facts, inconsistent answers, inappropriate responses, and unnecessary refusals to valid requests.
• Investigate failures through repeated attempts. Record how often they occur and the conditions that trigger them.
• Write clear bug reports with inputs, conversation history, reproduction steps, expected behavior, and actual results.
• Use basic Python or JavaScript scripts to send API requests, repeat tests, and compare responses.
• Maintain test cases and rerun them after changes to check that earlier problems have not returned.
• Explain which issues need attention first and why. Discuss findings and possible improvements with engineers.
• Follow up on reported problems and confirm whether fixes resolve them.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Curiosity about AI and a strong interest in finding out how and why it fails.
• Patience for trial and error, including repeated tests that do not immediately reveal a problem.
• Attention to detail and clear, organized documentation.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with a willingness to raise problems, ask questions, and explain your thinking.
• Basic Python or JavaScript skills: enough to read and modify simple scripts.
• A basic understanding of APIs, including sending requests and reading JSON responses.
• The ability to check AI answers against supplied facts and instructions, even when an answer sounds confident.
• Willingness to learn from feedback and improve your testing approach.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Git, Postman, or curl.
- Exposure to manual testing, bug reporting, or automated tests.
- Personal experiments with AI chatbots, jailbreak prompts, or small coding projects.
- Experience testing conversations in more than one language.
Professional experience is not required.
Experienced applicants are welcome if the internship's responsibilities and terms suit them.
Some testing may involve sensitive or harmful content.
Testing will take place within company-authorized environments.
