Company Overview:
Junk Journal is a social space where people escape AI, algorithms and share their real lives. Users customize personal pages, post their “junk,” and journal without pressure or performance. It’s your digital diary — express yourself unfiltered, junk and all.

We launched June 8th 2026 and in 3 months have grown to nearly 4,000 users in app and 12.6k on TikTok organically, no promotions.

Tech stack:
UI/UX: Figma
Techstack for the frontend: ReactJs, NextJs, WebGL, TailwindCSS.
Techstack for the backend: Laravel, PostgreSQL.

Role Summary:
We're seeking an experienced fullstack engineer that's well versed in web and mobile responsivness. The ideal candidate is able to take ownership while working independantly in the right direction, they can work in a fast paced startup environment, while delivering quality code (code snob a plus!). This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground level of a early stage startup. This position is a intern position but after a 3 month trial we can consider equity and salary if available. This is a full-time position with the flexibility to manage your own time as long as deliverables are met.

Responsibilities:
Implement changes for bugs, new features or user feedback
Implement, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code architecture
Use given documentation to build or add new features
Create clean, scalable code while providing deliverables on time
Ability to implement any APIs etc
Own feature development from implementation through deployment
Iterate on UI/UX functionality in the application to align with product roadmap
Responsible for testing features and iterating on those found bugs
Owning the life cycle of product development through to launch
Must be able to build and code without AI.

Qualifications:
Fullstack Engineer
Experience with Frontend and Backend
Successfully deployed or launched any personal apps
Web based knowlege
Mobile and ipad responsiveness
Enjoy making things work/building
Must have portfolio or github (both plus)
