SUMMARY

Autonomous Mobile Robotics (AMR) develops, implements and services automated systems for various logistic applications worldwide. Our innovative logistic solutions, centered on automated systems, provide our high-end customers with the reliability and flexibility needed to support their mission-critical operations.

As a Mobility Engineer you will apply a working knowledge of engineering fundamentals to AMR engineering and design activities under the direction of a Senior Engineer. The Mobility Engineer interacts with all AMR departments as necessary to support the design, production, integration, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automated systems both in the factory and in the field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Complete engineering tasks that may include a variety of complex features and design requirements.
  • Technically manage projects of small scope.
  • Ensure that customer requirements are systematically converted into total system solutions.
  • Support the Systems Engineering Program in accordance with customer/project requirements, including the performance of hazard analyses and FMEAs.
  • Develop and recommend design approaches for new or improved products or processes. Consolidate results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects.
  • Demonstrate good technical judgment, independent evaluation, and ingenuity.
  • Devise innovative solutions to problems.
  • Conduct technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component, or process specifications and requirements.
  • Generate work instructions and test procedures.
  • Prepare reports and present results to management and clients.
  • Evaluate vendor capability to provide required products or services.
  • Occasional work outside normal working hours should be anticipated.
  • Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.
  • Adheres to the Quality System and participates in continuous improvement.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

  • Ability to interact with customer representatives.
  • Proficiency in the application of current engineering software
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Ability to apply a working knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of mechanical engineering and an understanding of related engineering fields.
  • Good hands-on abilities for assembling mechanical components.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Engineering from four-year college or university and 0-5 years related experience. Master’s degree in related field and experience with mobile machine design is desired.
