We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our engineering team in Santa Monica. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys owning features end-to-end, solving complex technical problems, and working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

About The Role

As a Full Stack Engineer at Hidonix, you will design, develop, and maintain applications and services across the full technology stack. You will work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to translate product requirements into reliable, scalable, and intuitive software.

You will contribute across both frontend and backend development, participate in architectural and technical decisions, integrate APIs and services, and help improve the performance, reliability, security, and maintainability of our applications.

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, product-minded, comfortable taking ownership, and able to move effectively from an idea or requirement through implementation and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack applications and services.

• Build responsive, intuitive, and high-performance frontend experiences.

• Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and application logic.

• Own features throughout the complete development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to translate product requirements into technical solutions.

• Design and integrate RESTful APIs and other service integrations.

• Develop and maintain database schemas, queries, data models, and application data flows.

• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and reusable code.

• Participate in architecture and technical design decisions and help establish engineering best practices.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, integration, performance, and production issues.

• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to other engineers.

• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Develop automated tests and contribute to maintaining strong software quality throughout the development lifecycle.

• Work with engineering teams to improve CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and development workflows.

• Integrate internal and third-party APIs, services, and platforms as required.

• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement early in the development process.

• Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation for systems, APIs, architecture, and development processes.

• Stay current with relevant technologies and recommend tools, frameworks, and approaches that improve Hidonix's products and engineering practices.

• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities and technical requirements may evolve as products develop.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated experience working across both frontend and backend systems.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.

• Professional experience with a modern front end framework such as React, Next.js, Vue, or Angular.

• Strong backend development experience using technologies such a C#, Java, Node.js, Python, or similar.

• Experience designing, building, and integrating REST APIs and backend services.

• Strong understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases and data modeling.

• Experience with Git and modern software-development workflows.

• Understanding of software architecture, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented or functional programming principles.

• Experience writing automated tests and debugging complex software issues.

• Strong understanding of application security and secure software-development practices.

• Ability to independently take ownership of technical problems and drive them through resolution.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.

• Experience building applications involving AI/ML, spatial computing, XR/AR/VR, robotics, computer vision, or real-time systems.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with Docker, containerized applications, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and modern DevOps practices.

• Experience designing or working with microservices and distributed systems.

• Experience with real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets.

• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, identity management, and secure API design.

• Experience working with complex technical products that integrate software, hardware, or multiple external systems.

• Experience working in a startup, deep-tech, defense, robotics, or similarly fast-paced engineering environment.
