About the job
About the Role
We're hiring a Frontend Engineer to join a small, high-ownership product engineering team. You'll work across both an internal, data-dense operations platform (used by internal teams to manage a multi-level hierarchy of records, contracts, inventory, and workflows) and a customer/member-facing web application (discovery, account management, and support flows).
This is a full-stack-leaning frontend role: you'll own features from data model and API contract through to a polished, accessible UI in production. You'll work closely with backend engineers, cross-regional operational stakeholders, and design, translating real operational complexity (multi-entity hierarchies, status/lifecycle taxonomies, ticketing, role-based access) into interfaces that are fast, clear, and maintainable.
What You'll Do
- Build and ship features across both an internal admin/ops product and a customer-facing product — everything from data tables and timeline/Gantt-style views to search, forms, and support/ticketing flows.
- Design and implement frontend architecture: routing, state management, API integration layers, and reusable component patterns.
- Translate ambiguous business requirements (e.g. status taxonomies, RBAC permission matrices, multi-phase integration rollouts) into clean technical specs and working software.
- Work directly with third-party integrations — CRM and finance tools, support/ticketing platforms, search providers, and auth/hosting services.
- Own deployment and infra concerns for the apps you build: CI/CD pipelines, CDN/storage delivery, OAuth setup, dependency and security hygiene.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operational and regional stakeholders to scope and validate features.
- Write documentation (specs, API docs, RBAC matrices) and structure work through epics/stories in a project tracker.
- Debug gnarly real-world issues — from region-specific connectivity problems to third-party webhook and data-sync edge cases.
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with React (we're on React 19) and TypeScript in production.
- Experience with Next.js in production.
- Comfort with modern frontend tooling: Vite, TanStack Query/Router, form handling with react-hook-form + Zod, and component styling with Tailwind CSS.
- Experience building accessible, composable UI components (Radix UI or similar headless primitives is a plus).
- Backend literacy — you can read/reason about REST APIs and work comfortably with backend engineers on API contracts, even if you're not backend-first.
- Experience integrating third-party services/APIs (CRM, support, payments, search, or auth providers).
- Familiarity with cloud deployment basics — AWS (S3, CloudFront), CI/CD via GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
- Product thinking: you can take a loosely defined operational problem and turn it into a well-scoped technical spec.
- Comfortable working in a lean team with real ownership — this isn't a role where someone hands you a fully-specced ticket every time.
- Experience in proptech, ops-heavy SaaS, or other domains with complex internal tooling is a strong plus, but not required.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data-dense UI patterns — virtualized lists/tables (e.g. TanStack Virtual), Gantt/timeline views, dashboards.
- Exposure to multi-region or multi-tenant products.
- Familiarity with Zustand or similar lightweight state management.
- Prior work with Zendesk, Pipedrive, or Xero specifically.
Location: Remote
Type: Contract
Compensation is competitive and benchmarked to market, scaled to the candidate's demonstrated skill and experience level.
To apply, please share your resume along with links to relevant projects or a portfolio (GitHub, live products).
