Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supports the Production Manager ensuring full entertainment technical support is given to all events.
Deputizes for the Production Manager as required
Monitors the quality of technical support being offered around the vessel including sound and lighting levels.
Reports daily to Production Manager
Attends band calls and rehearsals to ensure top quality professional shows and events.
Liaises with visiting Guest entertainers / Enrichment staff to ensure their needs are understood and met,
Regularly tests all ships entertainment equipment, documents and takes action on results.
Reports defects of technical equipment to the Production Manager
Provides training in the operation of the Ships entertainment systems and its maintenance to the Entertainment technician (Nova Class Only).
Carries out maintenance and repair of equipment.
Maintains, cleans and organizes sound booth, stage areas and storage lockers on a daily basis. 12. Practices preventative maintenance.
Assists with, and in the absence of the Production Manager supervises set ups and strikes of all entertainment events, including scenery for production shows, strikes of all technical equipment around the ship, accommodating the needs of musicians and performers who utilize areas.
Assists in all setup and strikes of technical equipment for all entertainment events, such as bingo games, quizzes, lectures etc.
Supports any lectures and special Enrichment events (i.e. culinary demonstrations, guest lectures, bridge lectures, wine tastings, shore concierge port talks, special group events).
Prepares suitable hand over notes.
Operates all lighting and video equipment for all events around the ship as required
Attends Band calls and rehearsals
Liaises with visiting Guest entertainers / Enrichment staff to provide creative lighting design and operation
Operates Sound, Lighting and Video for all enrichment events & parties
Regularly tests all ships entertainment lighting and video systems, documents and takes action on results
Provides training in the operation of the Ships entertainment lighting systems and its maintenance to Entertainment technician
Carries out maintenance and repair of lighting and video equipment

Assists in set ups and strikes of all entertainment events, including scenery for production shows, strikes of all technical equipment around the ship, accommodating the needs of musicians and performers who utilize areas
Be responsible for and sign over the equipment in the lighting inventory to relieving Lighting Engineers
Proactively responds to issues or potential problems quickly and efficiently involving relevant people as required. Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor.
Assist the Broadcast Manager with filming of events, activities and other custom content creation
Socializes with guests when in public rooms.
Assists with the induction of new crew.
Adjusts own work schedule and location independently when the overall daily operation changes.
Incorporates Company service standards, personalized service and sincere hospitality by creating positive experiences for guests, efficiently engaging with guests and anticipating guest needs.
Performs all other duties as requested by supervisor
Qualifications
Valid STCW95 certification.
Extensive proven knowledge of professional Lighting & Video equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
Good knowledge of computer and manual lighting console operation.
Lighting Design Skills
Good knowledge and understanding of show control and time code distribution.
Basic knowledge in Mac & PC hardware & software maintenance and repair
Good troubleshooting skills, basic repair skills, and able to crimp and solder connectors.
Proven lighting design experience.
Physically and medically fit.
Moral integrity is required

Language requirements:
Excellent fluent English (verbal and written) is mandatory. English is the working and safety language on board Silversea vessels. This also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members. Any other language is a plus.
Computer knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications is required
Previous experience with Fidelio is desirable
Efficient at all computer based tasks
