AV/UC Systems Engineer – Onsite

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Salary: $85,000–$100,000 annually

Employment Type: Full-Time | 100% Onsite

Customer Environment: Federal Government / Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS)

About the Position:

Superior Access Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced AV/UC Systems Engineer to provide onsite technical support for integrated Audio/Visual (AV), Video Teleconferencing (VTC), and Unified Communications (UC) systems supporting a federal customer in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This is a hands-on technical position for someone who can independently troubleshoot complex conference room and AV/UC system issues from initial diagnosis through resolution.

The successful candidate should understand how AV, VTC, UC, control, DSP, and IP networking technologies work together and be comfortable working directly with customers, vendors, technicians, and remote engineering teams.

This is not a traditional Help Desk position. We're looking for someone who can walk into a conference room with a problem, diagnose what is happening, and work through the issue to resolution.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and advanced troubleshooting of AV/VTC/UC systems.
  • Support integrated conference rooms, boardrooms, training rooms, and other AV-enabled spaces.
  • Diagnose hardware, software, connectivity, control, DSP, and system-integration issues.
  • Troubleshoot network-connected AV equipment and IP-based AV/UC systems.
  • Support AV/VTC endpoints and Unified Communications environments.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot AV control systems and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) equipment.
  • Perform minor configuration adjustments to control systems, user interfaces, DSP settings, and related equipment.
  • Support installation, testing, commissioning, QA, and turnover of new or upgraded conference rooms.
  • Assist with system upgrades, software updates, service packs, and configuration changes.
  • Support Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Synergy Sky environments as required.
  • Provide direct technical assistance and basic system training to end users.
  • Coordinate manufacturer, vendor, and subcontractor service activities.
  • Maintain service records, work orders, maintenance documentation, inventory, and system-readiness reporting.
  • Coordinate escalated issues, RMAs, replacement parts, and technical support with the appropriate internal and external teams.
  • Work directly with federal customer personnel to identify issues, develop solutions, and improve system reliability.
  • Perform work in accordance with applicable customer security, safety, and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on professional experience supporting AV, VTC, UC, or integrated conference room systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex AV/UC systems.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications or comparable enterprise UC technologies.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, routers, and network-connected AV equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with DSP equipment and AV control systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and documenting service activities.
  • Ability to read AV system drawings, signal-flow diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong customer-service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with engineering teams, vendors, Help Desk personnel, and customers.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Indianapolis, Indiana.
  • Ability to satisfy applicable federal customer background, security, system-access, and facility-access requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with one or more of the following is strongly preferred:

  • DoD, federal government, military, or other secure environments
  • Cisco CUCM and Synergy Sky
  • Crestron, Extron, AMX, or comparable AV control platforms
  • Biamp, Q-SYS, Crestron, or comparable professional DSP platforms
  • Enterprise VTC/video conferencing systems
  • AV system integration, commissioning, and QA
  • STIG, IAVM, software patching, or cybersecurity compliance requirements
  • CTS, CTS-I, CCNA, or relevant manufacturer certifications

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for a technically capable, self-directed engineer who enjoys troubleshooting.

You should be comfortable determining whether an issue originates with the endpoint, control system, DSP, network, UC platform, cabling, configuration, or another component—and then working through the problem methodically until it is resolved.

Because this position works directly with a federal customer, professionalism, communication, documentation, reliability, and attention to security requirements are essential.

Work Environment:

This position is 100% onsite in Indianapolis, Indiana and supports systems located within secure federal government spaces.

The selected candidate must be able to satisfy all applicable customer background, facility-access, system-access, and security requirements.

Compensation:

$85,000–$100,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, certifications, and technical background.

Superior Access Solutions, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
