Our solution creates an AI-powered finance team by combining a company’s financial data and context with specialized AI agents that can automate financial workflows across accounting, payments, treasury, reconciliation, reporting, and other financial operations.

As AI agents increasingly operate businesses and transact with other agents, RobotMoney provides the financial memory, intelligence, policies, permissions, money accounts, and verifiable records required for autonomous finance.

The Role

We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with RobotMoney’s customers to turn their financial workflows, systems, and data into production deployments powered by RobotMoney.

You’ll operate at the intersection of engineering, product, AI, finance, and the customer.

This isn’t a traditional implementation or solutions engineering role. You’ll be expected to understand complex customer problems, design solutions, write production code, integrate systems, deploy AI-powered workflows, and work directly with customers until those solutions are delivering measurable value.

You’ll also bring what you learn in the field back into RobotMoney’s core product, helping us turn customer-specific solutions into capabilities that can scale across our platform.

What You’ll Do

• Work directly with customers to understand their financial operations, workflows, systems, data, and automation opportunities.
• Own technical deployments from initial discovery and architecture through implementation, testing, production rollout, and adoption.
• Integrate RobotMoney with customer systems including banking, accounting, ERP, payroll, payments, data warehouses, and other financial infrastructure.
• Build integrations and applications using RobotMoney’s APIs, SDK, MCP server, and agent infrastructure.
• Design and deploy AI-agent workflows across areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, reconciliation, reporting, and financial operations.
• Translate ambiguous business and financial problems into clear technical requirements and working software.
• Build prototypes quickly and evolve successful prototypes into reliable production systems.
• Configure and implement customer-specific financial policies, permissions, approval workflows, and controls.
• Work with customer engineering, finance, security, compliance, and executive teams throughout deployments.
• Diagnose integration, data, model, agent, and workflow issues in production environments.
• Develop tooling and reusable components that make future RobotMoney deployments faster and easier.
• Work directly with RobotMoney’s engineering team to improve APIs, SDKs, agents, integrations, infrastructure, and developer experience.
• Surface recurring customer requirements and field insights that should become part of RobotMoney’s core product.
• Support the Sales team during technical discovery, architecture discussions, proofs of concept, and enterprise evaluations.
• Help establish RobotMoney’s deployment methodology and technical playbook as we scale.

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of software engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, or related technical experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to write production-quality code.
• Experience building backend applications, APIs, integrations, or distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, databases, and third-party integrations.
• Experience deploying and operating applications in cloud environments.
• Ability to independently take a loosely defined customer problem from discovery through production.
• Strong debugging and technical problem-solving skills.
• Experience working directly with customers or external technical stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable operating in an early-stage startup where requirements can change quickly and processes are still being built.
• Willingness to get deeply involved in customer problems rather than simply handing requirements back to another engineering team.

Strongly Preferred

• Experience building production applications using LLMs or AI agents.
• Experience with agent frameworks, tool calling, MCP, RAG, structured outputs, evaluations, or AI orchestration.
• Experience with fintech, banking, payments, accounting, ERP, treasury, or financial infrastructure.
• Familiarity with financial systems and APIs such as Stripe, Plaid, QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, banking APIs, or similar platforms.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems where security, permissions, auditability, and reliability are critical.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar infrastructure.
• Experience designing event-driven systems, workflow engines, or automation platforms.
• Understanding of OAuth, API security, identity, access controls, and enterprise authentication.
• Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure, cryptographic verification, or immutable audit systems.
• Experience working in consulting, professional services, solutions architecture, or another customer-facing engineering environment.
• Experience taking prototypes or proofs of concept into production.

Who Will Succeed Here

You’re an engineer who likes being close to the problem.

You don’t want requirements handed to you after six weeks of meetings. You want to talk directly to the customer, understand how their business actually works, identify the problem, and build the solution.

You’re comfortable switching between a customer meeting, an architecture diagram, an API integration, debugging production code, and a conversation with RobotMoney’s product team.

You don’t need perfect specifications. You can operate in ambiguity, ask the right questions, make good technical decisions, and ship.

Most importantly, you care about whether what you build actually works for the customer... not simply whether the code was delivered.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days: Become deeply familiar with RobotMoney’s architecture, APIs, agents, policies, integrations, and deployment model. Work directly with existing pilots and design partners, complete initial integrations, and help move customers from demos and proofs of concept into real workflows.

6 Months: Own customer deployments independently, reduce implementation time, establish repeatable deployment patterns, and identify capabilities from customer projects that should become part of RobotMoney’s core platform.

12 Months: Develop a scalable deployment framework that allows RobotMoney to onboard increasingly complex enterprise customers while feeding real-world customer requirements directly into Product and Engineering.
