Role Description The Sr. Project Manager, Strategic Implementation is a full-time, on-site role based in Iowa City, IA, responsible for leading complex, cross-functional initiatives that support the health system’s strategic priorities. This role oversees project planning, scope definition, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with institutional standards. The Sr. Project Manager coordinates with clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders to gather requirements, manage risks, and resolve issues that may impact project delivery. Day-to-day responsibilities include facilitating project meetings, tracking milestones and deliverables, preparing status reports and executive summaries, and driving continuous improvement in project management methodologies. The role also mentors project teams, supports change management and communication efforts, and promotes a culture of collaboration and accountability across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Experience with Expeditor and Expediting responsibilities, ensuring timely delivery of project components and critical resources.
  • Knowledge of Inspection processes to verify quality, compliance, and performance of project deliverables.
  • Proficiency in Logistics Management, coordinating workflows, schedules, and interdependencies across departments and external partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP, Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex health care environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills, with a commitment to inclusive, team-based work and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in an academic medical center, health care system, or similarly regulated environment is highly beneficial.
