Role summary
Paravane is looking for a Network & Infrastructure Engineer to help design, build, secure, and operate the network infrastructure behind our products and internal systems. You’ll work across cloud networking, connectivity, DNS, traffic management, network security, observability, and production infrastructure while helping us build systems that remain reliable as Paravane grows.
About the role
Paravane is looking for a Finance & Accounting Manager to help build and manage the financial foundation of a growing software company. You’ll oversee day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial controls while helping leadership understand the financial impact of decisions across the business.
As Paravane grows, we need someone who can take ownership of the financial systems and processes required to operate the company responsibly.
The Finance & Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting and financial operations while helping establish the processes, controls, reporting, and planning infrastructure Paravane will rely on as the business scales.
This is a hands-on role. You should be comfortable moving between detailed financial work and broader business analysis—from reviewing transactions and reconciling accounts to building forecasts and helping leadership understand revenue, expenses, cash flow, and operating performance.
You’ll work closely with company leadership and external accounting, tax, banking, payroll, and other financial partners. You’ll also help ensure that Paravane develops disciplined financial practices early rather than attempting to introduce them after the company has already grown.
What you'll do
- Own and maintain accurate financial records and accounting processes
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare and review income statements, balance sheets, cash-flow statements, and internal management reports
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are properly classified and documented
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Oversee customer billing, collections, vendor payments, and expense management
- Perform bank, credit card, and balance-sheet reconciliations
- Develop and maintain annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts
- Build cash-flow forecasts and monitor the company’s liquidity and cash position
- Track actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts
- Analyze revenue, operating expenses, margins, and other financial performance indicators
- Develop financial models to support hiring, pricing, product investment, and other business decisions
- Help leadership understand the financial implications of operational and strategic decisions
- Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls, approval processes, and segregation of duties
- Develop purchasing, expense, reimbursement, and financial authorization procedures
- Support payroll administration and reconciliation in coordination with payroll providers
- Coordinate with external accountants and tax professionals on federal, state, and local tax requirements
- Support tax filings, information requests, and other compliance activities
- Coordinate financial information required for audits, reviews, insurance, banking, and other external requirements
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records
- Help manage relationships with banks, payment processors, accounting platforms, payroll providers, and other financial vendors
- Monitor software subscriptions, vendor contracts, and recurring company expenses
- Develop financial dashboards and reporting that provide leadership with clear visibility into company performance
- Track SaaS and recurring-revenue metrics as Paravane’s customer base grows
- Help establish revenue recognition and customer-contract accounting practices appropriate for the business
- Support financial planning for new products and business initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes through automation and better systems
- Help select and implement accounting, expense management, billing, reporting, and financial planning tools as the company grows
- Protect sensitive financial information and maintain appropriate access controls
- Help develop Paravane’s long-term finance and accounting processes as the organization scales
What you bring
- Strong professional experience in accounting, finance, financial operations, or a related field
- Experience owning or substantially contributing to monthly and year-end financial close processes
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience preparing and analyzing income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
- Ability to analyze financial information and communicate its significance clearly to company leadership
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate financial records
- Experience developing or maintaining financial controls and operational procedures
- Experience working with accounting and financial management software
- Strong spreadsheet and financial modeling skills
- Ability to work effectively with external accountants, tax professionals, payroll providers, banks, and other financial partners
- Understanding of cash-flow management and working-capital planning
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial and business information appropriately
- Ability to independently investigate discrepancies and resolve financial issues
- Comfort working across both detailed accounting activities and broader financial planning
- Good judgment when establishing controls without creating unnecessary administrative complexity
- Comfort working in an early-stage environment where financial systems and processes are still being established
- Experience with SaaS, technology companies, recurring revenue, subscription billing, multi-state operations, or startup finance is a plus
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or another relevant professional qualification is a plus but not required
