Chief Technical Officer

As Ditto's first Chief Technology Officer, you won't just be writing code — you'll be defining the technical foundation of one of Toronto's most exciting early-stage startups. This is a ground-floor opportunity to own the entire technology vision of an app that's changing the way people connect around the activities they love.

You'll be the technical brain behind Ditto — responsible for the architecture, development, and continuous optimization of the app from the inside out. You'll own the codebase end to end, making key decisions about tech stack, infrastructure, scalability, and security as the platform grows from its early user base to thousands of active users across Toronto and beyond.

You'll build and ship new features that make the Ditto experience faster, smoother, and more compelling — from activity matching and in-app chat to user profiles, scheduling, and partner integrations. You'll identify technical bottlenecks before they become problems, implement best practices for code quality and version control, and ensure the app performs reliably at every stage of growth.

Beyond the code, you'll work directly alongside the founder to translate business goals into technical solutions, weigh build versus buy decisions, and help shape the product roadmap. As the team grows, you'll play a key role in hiring and leading junior developers and contractors.

You're a full-stack developer with strong mobile development experience and a solid understanding of backend architecture, APIs, and cloud infrastructure. You've built and shipped real products before, you're comfortable working in ambiguity, and you thrive in environments where speed and quality both matter. You're as comfortable talking product strategy with a founder as you are deep in a debugging session.
