About Rover AI
We are building Rover AI, the Agentic SIEM designed to shatter the indexing wall and operate at petabyte scale. We represent the entire SecOps lifecycle—unifying a next-generation SIEM, AI Automated Detection Engineering, and an Autonomous SOC into a single platform. By working directly over our customers' existing data footprint, Rover unlocks unlimited historical retention and instant searchability without vendor lock-in.
About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious, curious DevOps / Cloud Engineering Intern eager to learn how to build resilient, multi-cloud platforms from the ground up. You will work side-by-side with our senior engineers to automate deployments, support our container ecosystem, and build vendor-neutral infrastructure capable of handling high-throughput, data-intensive workloads.
What You'll Do
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code: Assist in writing and organizing modular Terraform configurations to deploy resources across cloud platforms.
- Kubernetes & Containers: Help package applications using Docker and maintain workloads on Kubernetes clusters.
- CI/CD & Tooling: Improve developer velocity by crafting deployment pipelines, automation hooks, and utilities using Bash, Make, and Kustomize.
- Observability & Reliability: Monitor pipeline health, track system metrics, and troubleshoot build or runtime issues alongside the engineering team. What We're Looking For
- Academic or Practical Foundation: Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical project experience.
- Linux Fundamentals: High comfort level working in a terminal environment and understanding core OS concepts.
- Scripting Skills: Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate repetitive tasks.
- Foundational Cloud & Container Knowledge: Basic familiarity with Docker concepts (images, containers, registries) and exposure to at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Builder Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity about how distributed systems scale, and an eagerness to learn modern DevOps practices. Bonus Points
- Personal homelab projects, contributions to open-source infrastructure tools, or a public GitHub repo showcasing container/IaC experiments.
- Basic familiarity with Kubernetes concepts (Pods, Services, Deployments).
- An interest in distributed systems, big data infrastructure, or cybersecurity. Would you like to tailor this for a specific candidate pool (such as undergraduate co-ops vs. recent graduates) or add specific details regarding compensation, academic credit, and mentorship structure?
