Role Summary
The Data Warehouse & BI Engineer supports organization's manufacturing environment by leading the design, development, and delivery of data warehouse, reporting, and analytics solutions that drive operational visibility and business decision-making. This role is responsible for the full solution lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architecture and design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Location & Travel Requirements
- This position may be based in Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC, with a hybrid work model or regional proximity preferred.
- Travel requirement: 0–25%, domestic and international.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of data warehouse, reporting, and analytics solutions, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality data warehouse and business intelligence solutions that support manufacturing and enterprise priorities.
- Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand requirements, define solution approaches, and deliver impactful data and reporting capabilities.
- Develop and maintain T-SQL procedures, functions, queries, and scripts to support data integration, reporting, and analytics needs.
- Design, build, and support ETL processes for the intake and transformation of data from manufacturing and other enterprise systems.
- Research, analyze, and troubleshoot data issues, stored procedures, and associated SSRS or Power BI reports.
- Collaborate with the DBA team to assess server health, database performance, and query optimization opportunities; recommend and implement improvements such as indexing and query tuning.
- Develop and support data migration procedures and scripts as needed for project and operational initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing evolution of data warehouse architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with best practices.
- Ensure data warehouse and analytics code is maintained in version control and developed in accordance with SDLC standards.
- Support operationally critical work and project timelines, including flexibility to work hours needed for global support when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions.
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft BI technologies, including SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
- Strong experience with T-SQL development, including stored procedures, functions, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Experience developing data warehouse, ETL, and end-user reporting solutions, including Power BI or similar dashboard/reporting tools.
- Experience working within a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
