About the Company

Sapiens International Corporation is a leading global provider of software solutions for the insurance industry, with a growing presence in the financial services sector. We offer integrated core software solutions and business services, and a full digital suite for the property and casualty/general insurance; life, pension, and annuities; and reinsurance markets. Sapiens also services the workers’ compensation and financial and compliance markets. Our portfolio includes policy administration, billing, and claims; underwriting, illustration and electronic application; reinsurance and decision management software. Sapiens’ digital platform features customer and agent portals, and a business intelligence platform. With a 30-year track record of delivering to more than 600 organizations, Sapiens’ team of over 4,000 operates through our fully owned subsidiaries in North America, the United Kingdom, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. Our SaaS team hosts this software for a large share of those clients on AWS and Azure, and this role directly supports those production environments. For more information: www.sapiens.com.

About the Role

Responsible for supporting, coordinating, and maintaining databases across our SaaS-hosted production environments — installing, configuring, troubleshooting, upgrading, performance tuning, backup/restore, security, auditing, production support, and migration — for a multi-tenant/multi-customer platform running on AWS and Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Oracle 19c and higher databases across on-prem, AWS, and Azure including RAC, and Oracle OCI, in a multi-tenant/multi-customer SaaS environment.
  • Experience working with AI and ability to use it.
  • Install / assist with the installation of new versions of ORACLE Database Server.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to meet customer-facing SLAs for availability and security.
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end, including on-call rotation for production incidents.
  • Build and maintain automation (scripts, Terraform/Ansible, or equivalent Infrastructure-as-Code) to provision, patch, and monitor databases at scale across many customer instances; refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release of deployment activities after hours, within SLA-driven change windows.
  • Coordinate with the SaaS/Cloud Operations team on shared infrastructure, capacity planning, and incident escalation.
  • Share domain and technical expertise with team members.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.
  • Identify, suggest, and promote best practice, including multi-tenant data isolation, encryption, and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) relevant to hosting insurance client data.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma or master's in computer science or information technology.
  • 4+ years of proven experience in ORACLE Database Administration and Maintenance.
  • 3+ years’ experience in the Insurance/Financial industry, preferred.
  • 2+ years supporting databases in a multi-tenant or multi-customer SaaS/cloud-hosted production environment.
  • Experience in ORACLE management and ability to troubleshoot DB and performance issues.
  • Identifying and resolving incidents and addressing user problems/concerns, including on-call/SLA-driven support.
  • Experience in database monitoring and tuning using TKPROF, EXPLAIN PLAN, OEM, and custom scripts.
  • Hands-on experience in DB backup/recovery process using RMAN.
  • Experience using Data Pump, Export/Import, SQL*Plus, and SQL*Loader.
  • Knowledge of PL/SQL is a must; PG-SQL is plus.
  • Experience in backend design and development.
  • Cloud DBA experience with AWS preferred; Azure/OCI is a plus, including managed database services (Amazon RDS, Azure Database).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code / automation tooling (Terraform, Ansible, or scripting) for provisioning and patching at scale.
  • Familiarity with cloud observability tooling (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog, or similar) alongside OEM.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux environments.
  • Extensive technical and design knowledge.
  • AI working experience with Claude preferred.
  • Proficient & competent in communication, accountability, decision-making, intrapersonal, & interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in data migration among various RDBMS.
  • Understanding multi-tenant data isolation, encryption, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) is a plus.
  • Understanding DaaS and SaaS concepts and experience working with them.
  • Cloud cost/capacity management experience (right-sizing, storage tiering) is a plus.
