About the job
Join a high-profile co-innovation engagement building the MVP of a Collision Mitigation Safety (CMS) data platform for autonomous mining and construction vehicles. Our client, a global leader in heavy equipment and autonomous vehicle technology with over a decade of experience in the space, is pivoting toward next-generation "Future Ops" capabilities powered by generative AI and large behavioral models. As the on-site Business Analyst, you'll be the trusted link between client stakeholders and our offsite delivery team, translating real-world operations into requirements the engineering team can build against. This is a rare opportunity to shape the foundational MLOps toolchain behind a safety-critical autonomy program, starting with a pilot centered on stockpile management workflows.
Responsibilities
- Be the "person on the ground" — capture and relay daily updates, sync notes, concerns, and open questions from stakeholders and site operations to the offsite delivery team.
- Triage and resolve, in person and in hours, issues that would otherwise take days to clarify over remote channels.
- Run regular syncs with the offsite delivery pod to gather implementation gaps and information, and drive clarity on how CMS features will be demoed and accepted.
- Build a clear, shared understanding of the roadmap and value prioritization with stakeholders, and act as the driver on the ground for maximizing the value delivered each cycle.
- Own requirements documentation for the CMS Data Platform workflow — business rules, data flows, and operational constraints — in a form the engineering team can act on
- Define and validate demo scenarios and acceptance criteria for CMS features (e.g., the Stockpile Management pilot) with client stakeholders and the delivery team
- Track issues, risks, and decisions to closure; escalate blockers promptly and maintain a single source of truth for open items
- Support demo/UAT readiness — coordinating schedules, preparing walkthroughs, and confirming client acceptance sign-off
Requirements
- 7+ years as a Business Analyst on complex, technical software or data engineering programs, including client-facing, on-site work
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related technical field.
- Proven ability to elicit, structure, and translate business and operational requirements into clear specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria that a technical delivery team can build against
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills — comfortable running syncs, workshops, and issue-resolution conversations across client and delivery organizations
- Experience partnering with distributed or offshore delivery teams across time zones, using tools such as Azure DevOps or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal English communication, able to produce concise status updates and documentation for both engineering and executive audiences
- Comfortable working with significant autonomy as the accountable on-site presence, including independent issue triage and escalation
- Experience organizing onboarding activities for new team members, helping them ramp up quickly on project context, tools, and delivery workflows
- Comfortable following up on IT tickets and coordinating with support teams to resolve access, tooling, and environment issues
- Project management skills — planning, tracking, and coordinating delivery across workstreams
- Experience organizing Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and embedding Agile values into the development processPreferred, not required: familiarity with data platforms or MLOps concepts (data pipelines, model training lifecycle); background in autonomous vehicles, heavy equipment, mining/construction, or other safety-critical/regulated industrial environments; prior experience on a Co-Innovation or Discovery-style enterprise engagement; a BA certification (CBAP, PMP, CSM, or equivalent).
